Immediately invalid once you see

Im sorry but its a little hard to take any adult seriously who watches this show and acts like its a show for adults. Sure, I watch some kids shows. On a daily basis Im watching Danny Phantom and Penguins of Madagascar, but Im not wearing it proudly on my sleeve like a badge because Im a grown ass man, and like I said, Im also a furry, so Im used to going to cons and seeing sexual deviants, manchildren, social outcasts, and generally disturbing things (thank god for alcohol).
Why is it invalid? He's not even cosplaying a character from the current show. That's a pony from G3 he's cosplaying. MLP:FiM is G4 and the different generations have nothing to do with each other except being about ponies.

Why do you use "adult" as a stamp of approval? Go read the quote Amphoteric sent you.
I seriously dont see the difference here. None at all. Its still MLP. And unless Im mistaken thats still Rainbow Dash.

In any case, the "adult stamp" as you put it is far from my major concern really. I still watch cartoons today, as I've said. I've watched Powerpuff girls, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Kids next door, all shows by the same artist as MLP. But like I said, I dont wear it on my shoulder like some goddamn honor. If I did watch MLP, I wouldnt want to be called a Brony. I love Firefly and Star Trek but I dont claim to be a Brown Coat or Trekkie. Also, MLP topics show up EVERYWHERE I go, involving picture spams with memes that I dont understand nor care about. You yourself spammed 3 separate MLP pictures/videos and only one of them was even relevant. It gets frustrating. And people talking using words like "Anypony" and "Nopony" and pretty much anything equestrian related. And then the worst one. "I will love and tolerate the s*#t out of you". I swear if someone came up to me at a con or something and said that I would punch them in the throat, and then watch to see if they still tolerate me. It would be sweet satisfaction if they wanted to start throwing punches.

And for the record I've watched the show. Its decent. Not the second coming of Jesus like everyone on the internet seems to think. But not a bad show.

Got to page 4, but I really don't have the time to read through the entire thread. I would like to echo the demand that someone post a link to a thread that was derailed or otherwise invaded by ponies, because I have found none. (If it has already been posted, I'm really sorry about that).

I want to know because there are 3 types of MLP haters (not just those who don't like it, I mean actually HATE it and will post in a thread just to say that they do):

1. The Ignorant: Those that have very little idea what it's actually about, and are thinking of the 80s version.

2. The Spiteful 'Manly' Men: Those who have wathed some of it, but hate it for what it is (IE they hate what bronies love).

3. The Tired Ones: Those who say they hate the show because of a severe oversaturation of pony related material appearing in irrelevent threads.

1. I don't mind, they are simply ignorant of the subject, and have done nothing wrong.

2. I usually take a dislike for. Not because they hate MLP, but becasue their reasons for doing so indicae that they are just generally not the type of person I get along with.

3. Are the ones I get confused about, since I see this argument all the time but cannot find a case of this ever happening. And if you are talking about times it's happened in other forums, then I'm sorry to hear that, but it is in no way a reason to hate Escapist bronies.

Finally, here's my theory as to why we get defensive whenever ponies are brought up. It's because we are always under attack. Sure our community is huge, but that counts for diddly squat around here since we appear to have listened to the rest of the site's demands and do not post ponies out of the blue. I've never seen it happen. But I cannot browse the escapist forums without running into people on random threads bashing on bronies. And it's an important distinction between pony bashing and brony bashing, one is expressing a dislike for a show, the other is insulting people that you don't even know.

I've wandered off on a tangent there, so I'll try to sum the paragrah up by saying that bronies on the escapist, in my experience, are actually rather quiet about their love of MLP, contrary to the claims that we go around shoving it down people's throats.

The reaon we always seem to be defending the show, which people misconstrue as having a thin skin, is because the only time w discuss ponies outside of our chat is to defend ourselves from haters.

NOTE:
I know my post count paints me as a newb, but I'm more of a perceptive lurker who has done his research.

The shows have a different fanbase. And the old Rainbow liked fashion. The new Rainbow Dash likes speed, adrenaline and being awesome(and being a show off). Not really sure what point I'm trying to make, just saying.

I don't either! I just like the show. I just get a frustrated when people call me gay or a pedophile for liking the show. Because that's what I do I like the show, and the stuff the fandom puts out. It looks like you've seen some of the really fanatic fans and decide that the whole fandom is like that. Please don't generalize like that.

There's also one thing I want you to understand. Yes, I think the show is awesome, but that's what what it is, a show. The fandom is the reason why I hang around in pony threads and chats. Because I like the people I have met. And occasionally discussing a show never harmed anyone.

And I don't see any harm with calling myself a brony, it's just a nickname for those who like the show. And I like that, for any show. The term was also coined very early when the fandom started and it just caught on.

And why do you complain on it being everywhere? It's just the internet being the internet. Just ignore it. Let people spam MLP memes and pictures in threads as long as the topic is MLP. However, I don't see all the hate pony reaction images get when they are posted in a non-MLP thread. It's just a image that's supposed to convey a point or emotion.

I sent 3 MLP commercials, 2 being videos, trying to say that the marketing department at The Hub(the channel the show airs on) is also marketing it towards the older audiences.
One of the pictures I sent was just me trying to clarify that we're not watching the earlier incarnations of MLP. They suck, in my opinion.
The last picture was the creator responding to a somewhat ignorant commenter. Still relevant to what I was discussing.
I also sent a MLP music video to the song "I'll make a man out of you" that was relevant to the discussion I was having then, it was part of a small TF2/Pony discussion we were having.

And if you think that was spam, then you really need to get off the internet, because there is spam everywhere, of everything, by everyone!

Every emotion, every opinion is always exaggerated on the internet. Take everything with a grain of salt.

You want to punch me?! Come at me bro!

Ok seriously, why is that phrase so bad, everyone should try to enter a conversation being loving and tolerant(God, that sounds cheesy). If the person you're talking with is just trying to offend, then you tolerate him, ignore him and leave the conversation.
It's a response to a hater saying that we respect his opinion, and we're not going to get mad at him. Of course, the internet has a way of taking things like these and turn it into something completely point- and meaningless.

No problem. It's way too easy to get riled up on the internet.
