I rejected a women just a week ago in a bar, to be fair I was pretty drunk so it was only a few minutes after we had gone our seperate ways when I realised what she had meant when she asked me if I like "kayaking". :-(

Have you heard of homosexuals?

Seriously though, I think single straight guys will reject perfectly acceptable women.

Guys are just much less likely to admit to rejecting them though. It might seem emasculating to some. First that you were asked out by a woman, which some think makes you passive and wearing the skirt from the start or something stupid like that. Second, that if you reject her, you look like you're a queer or something. But these people are stupid and do not deserve to be dated by anyone except other morons.

So you hear about it less. That and the whole 'women don't chase/court' thing.

Women rejecting men though? The ladies love to talk about that.

Has it really come to this?

The more attractive someone is, he/she has a higher "right" to be more selective? If so, then why in the world do people tell me bullshit about true love and crap like that?

It's high time people understand why the divorce rate is so high - it has to be because of shallowness.
Why anyone would tell you that? Well... "True Love" is a money maker for alotta people^^

I was hanging out with some friends and this girl just decided to hold this guys hand. The boy has never shown interest in her and even talked shit about her a couple times. By now they are a full blown couple.
Well, you obviously missed some clues regarding their prior closeness. In any other case he would've been in all rights to have slapped her hand away screaming, "AUGH! COOTIES!" or to have given her a judo throw.

We're men, we're complete whores.
Well I rejected a woman who was tempting me with sex, why?
I already had a girlfriend and I loved her.
If I would have done it today?
FUCK YEAH. No just kidding, I would have said no, because I actually like something else then just pointless sex.

Btw. Why do everybody think that men are nothing but crazy sex beigns?
For fuck sake we see different things in life then sex.

If a girl walks into a room of 100 guys, pretty much all of them will have made a decision, based primarily on looks, about whether they would like to sleep with that girl. Reverse the situation, and chances are only a few girls would have made that decision.

Through human nature and societies conditioning, the girl is seen as the prize to be won by the guy, who must prove himself. This also has roots in the whole slut/player double-standard, as a girl has more to lose (can get branded a slut or get impregnated) by sleeping with a guy than the guy does.

Bullshit, I've rejected women whilst I was single, who were both very attractive and had great personalities.

Hell, I've even "friendzoned" a girl.

NO WAY?!?!
Bullshit, no one, EVER friendzones a girl.
And if the women were oh so attractive and awesome, why would you turn them away?
Either they had a lazy eye, or they were dudes crossdressing.

Men are programmed to want to be the alpha male and spread his genes as far and wide as he can. This means that a man is much less likely to a potential mate than a woman is.

I would still turn down a girl I wasn't interested in (I've done so before... I think). I still probably wouldn't be that picky though.

I've rejected perfectly nice girls before. Because I didn't want to go out with them. I was single and looking, but I've had past experiences that have turned me against saying yes to any girl. Though to be fair, I've only been asked out by a girl 3 times before. And I have dumped, been dumped, and have had actual mutual breakups. E.g. we both rang each other saying we need to talk about something both having the intention of breaking it off, we were both happy with how it turned out.

Basically at the moment I'd take whatever I can get.

Actually I have rejected a woman before in High School. It was the weirdest thing. It was around the time of the school dance (what Americans seem to refer to as a "Prom") and a friend and I were just chatting in a hallway before a class. Then this girl from my maths class walked up and asked me to the dance. I was quite taken aback by the situation and said "No thanks" wherein she got in a real huff and stormed off. I didn't know her very well and can't actually remember her name now, but I think I was so dismissive because I was caught so off guard. It was like somebody phoning you up and offering you a million dollars you don't think it's real and so just put the phone down.

In retrospect I was a real asshole for giving such a casual dismissal and wouldn't have been so blunt if not for the fact she literally passed me in a hall and asked me out.

It was an old childhood friend.... Known her for 15 years... So, yeah...

At other times, it's been things such as awkward social position (friends ex, friend of a friend etc)

Well ofcourse women are more selective, on average they have alot more choice.
An average looking woman will have 10+ guys courting her, so they can simply pick and choose, and because they are in it for the long "game"(i.e. family), they will take their sweet time.
While we men got noone courting us(most of the time), we need to put in work, and if for once you can get a girl without all the fuss... f*ck it, MINE! :D
