I walked into EB Games today and came out with this.

It now works with Windows 7. Thank god, I was getting sick of working the old disks to run on modern systems. This was especially aggravating with The Sith Lords.

But now, now it's back, and on a single handy DVD. Now to download TSL Restored Content Mod 1.8 and Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge for K1, and I'm gonna go on a nostalgia binge.

I heard about this a few weeks ago in these very forums and immediately shelled out 25 quid to purchase it from Amazon and get it shipped over from the States. Worth every single penny, especially to play Knights of the Old Republic II with the TSL Restored Content Mod installed.

That is seriously awesome. I like how they've blended the two covers. If I didn't already own 1 on Steam and 2 on discs(which I got working on Windows 7 pretty easily), I'd be all over this. I'm wondering if it'll come on Steam and some point, though I doubt it, as I read somewhere(on this site, I think), that KotOR 2 won't ever be made available through digital means, for some reason.

What I find most significant is that this is the first time since 2005 that Lucasarts has made The Sith Lords readily available for purchase. They've spent the last seven years acting like it never happened because of the bad blood they got for fucking with Obsidian. And now, it's out again.

I saw that at wal mart the other day and was quite surprised by it. They didn't list the price and I was to lazy to get an employee so I didn't get it, plus I already have KOTOR 1 on steam.

Definitely, KotOR 2 has all but been declared non-canon, with the way TOR has retconned so many things that TSL established. Well, here's to hoping they'll retcon it back in, because it really makes the SW univers a much more interesting place.

It's twenty dollars, and it is Windows 7 Compatible. TSL was never compatible, but now it is.

I'll get around to buying it eventually, but I hope they finally decide to release KOTOR 2 digitally so I can just buy that separate instead of having to pay for KOTOR a second time.

I saw that a couple weeks back on amazon, was giddy with excitement at first but then realized I had kotor on steam and my disc copy works fine, maybe someday I'll get it.

Also, literally Just got done doing my two playthroughs of kotor 2 with the 1.8 patch and on kotor 1 baout to be done in maybe...a half hour with my light side playthrough (I just reached the star forge, should make quick work of the sith ^_^ )

from the light and dark side playthroughs, the restored content mod worked perfectly both times. (not saying it'll work perfect for you, but saying it will)

ALTHOUGH be warned, it breaks the widescreen fix patch, so you can't have TSL in widescreen godliness :/

Yeah, I remember it busting the Widescreen patch in 1.7 as well. So I'm stuck at 1024-768 resolution. Oh well.

I bought it. Kotor crashes immediatelt on startup but kotor 2 works great. God help you if you press the windoes key though.... Also the restored content was great except HK factory, had to use invincibility to beat that.

Really? That's a shame. It's working for me. I also loved the HK Factory, and I didn't find it too difficult. I thought it was one of the best parts, especially when you reprogram the HK-51s to become your personal army.

for some odd reason when i faced off against master vash at the hk factory at the end, she was a fuckin monster, even at level 25 with full shields/preps on, she'd still smoke me in about 2-3 hits, otherwise i did okay on that part.

Wait wait wait, back up for a second. What the hell was Lonna Vash doing at the HK Factory? Are you mixing this up with the M4-78 Mod?

What is with the Selkath? I already bought both the games and live in America, but this is still coll for people that have EB games(is that Australia?). Oh and both of the KotOR's work on my widows 7 computer. I heard that KotOR 1 only works if you get it on steam, but my KotOR 2 disc works fine. Actually KotOR worked better on Windows 7 than Windows vista, at least for me.

The Selkath was from the original KOTOR box art. It made no sense there either. We have EB Games in Canada as well.

Okay, I just think it is weird because everyone on that box that was in KotOR 1 has a role in KotOR 2. Then they throw in a random Selkath. It would have made more sense to replace it with Canderous or something.

Do you have a multi-core processor? KOTOR 1 has to be run on a single core, there's a way to fix it using a command line shortcut (assuming you're using Windows). There's also a 16:9 upres patch you might want to look into if you've got a widescreen monitor. The prerendered cutscenes won't work anymore, but there's not a whole hell of a lot in them anyways.

[cue "Hallelujah" chorus]

I spent the better part of a day last summer tracking down all the fixes I needed to get an old copy of KotOR II to run on my new Windows 7 laptop. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
