I genuinely don't see the need for remakes.If the gameplay was good enough first time then the graphics shouldn't matter that much

It's more to show the awesomeness of said games to the current gen gamers, oh how deprived many of them are. No point trying to get them to play it, if it isnt HD and "teh best grphix evar" they won't dare go near it and they need to be taught what a truly great game is.

Square enix are actually remaking 7 - 9 of Final fantasy after they finish up the series (14 is the final one I think, either that or 15 is the final, final fantasy they will ever make).
There hasnt been much information about the consoles they will be on but I read somewhere that FFVIII is coming on psp.

That's just typical of them though, can't think of anything new so remake the old. How many Final Fantasy V's are there? I think Four versions.

Also, this is a franchise they will never finish making, there's too much money in it. Don't be naive.

Prefer to see new games rather than remakes.... I only wanna see a remake if the devs take the opportunity to improve on the original, none of this "exact same thing, but in HD!" nonsense. Metroid: Zero Mission is a good example of how to do a remake imo.

But, if you put a gun to head and said "Suggest a game, *****!" I'd have to go with Terranigma. Update the music with a full orchestra score, improve the combat by throwing in some combo attacks and maybe add a few more side quests. Oh yeah, and voice acting and 3D, of course.

That's the exact reason it shouldn't be remade, that's a lot of people to piss off if you change anything about the way it's played.

Not to mention they will try to tie it in with all the new FFVII based games, which caused a clusterfuck of continuity problems and plot holes up thw wazoo.

If they were important to the plot, they would have been mentioned in the original game, which I would like to stay as is because I enjoy what it was. Not what all this new stuff has made it.

As true as it may be because Square is backwoods retarded now (though I thought Crisis Core was pretty okay) I'd still like to see it done. Even still I'd probably still hug my original even closer haha.
