so Ive been playing tho serious sam second encounter hd and as I was watching the credits roll I started thinking about older games Id like to see redone like serious sam was and the one that first comes to mind is duke 3d, Id love to see an updated version of it even with out any shit added besides better graphics but there are so many more games that could be cool if they did that too, moo2, xcom, Z, heretic, star control 2, even doom 2

what other old games could be cool with an hd style remake?

Difficult to say, as a lot of the nostalgia from a game lies in the graphics for me.

I suppose a revamped Dark Seed (with the same art style of course - Giger is a genius) would make me nerdgasm like no tomorrow.

After playing quite a bit of FFVI, I can say that it would be a fun game to have in HD. It doesn't need 3D, 2.5D would work well, but HD would be fantastic.

You want the truth? Remakes have no business existing, as far as I'm concerned. I believe that franchises should only be continued if they make improvements on waht came before, and by that logic remakes have no place in the world-- sadly, this extends even to the really good ones.

I heartily endorse this suggestion. Giger brings the awesome.

There was a pc neurosurgery game I used to play, it was very detailed, and a fair bit of fun. I'd love to see something like that attempted again. It even had 'achievements', I was in the subdural hematoma hall of fame for my skills w/ a scalpel.

I'd love to see Yoshi's Island with some slick 2.5D graphics ala the New Super Mario Bros, that could easily make up for that Yoshi's Island DS mishap.

Starflight... in a full rendered 3d environment. I used to love this game and still would if the graphics didn't absolutely kill it for me (EGA was state-of-the-art at one point!)

The Lost Vikings. Co-op is huge now, this game would shine. And, I believe it was made by Blizzard in their pre-SC/Diablo/Warcraft days.
