I do, if they're well-made cutscenes and important to the plot. Skipping cutscenes makes a game feel incomplete to me, like I'm not getting the full package.
I agree, what's the point in playing a single player game if story is unimportant to you, especially in a game like max payne 3.

A cutscene or a loading screen, i think using cutscenes to disguise loading screens is very smart. Now on pc the inability to skip SOME cutscenes on fast machines is a pain but if you are playing a story driven game and knowingly buy a story driven game and realise that hey cutscenes are a part of them you have shouldnt complain.
He mentioned that "HALFLIFE 2 DIDNT HAVE CUTSCENES SO ALL GAMES MUST NOT HAVE CUTSCENES",this is bullshit.
The reason it worked in hl2 is because Gordon freeman is a non character with no impact on the narrative so you could fuck about all you want and have no impact on the road the story takes because you were not part of the story, you were an observer.
Im sure there were trigger finger gamers who wished the game didnt have dialogue because it was interrupting them shooting things.
Its simple, cutscenes are a game design tool. If you dont want plot, thats fine. Just dont but a plot driven game. And for fuck sake dont review bomb a game because TB doesnt like cutscene
Have fun playing through the game more than once and sitting through the same cutscene several times, then. I know that *I* don't enjoy watching cutscenes more than once.
I have done and i am. Noticing the plot foreshadowing and various nuance in the cinematics that i didnt notice before.
I've played the bastion 3 times over because the story and gameplay were so strong i also played resident evil 4, 7 times over.
Cinematics dont diminish replayability as long as they are well designed and important for me atleast.
Seriously second time round i noticed alot of important things like rodrigo branco's reaction to da silva investigating them which i never took in the first time and it made me appreciate the game more and i enjoy picking up on these things.
Again im not saying your wrong for not wanting to rewatch a cutscene, but you dont have too.
Just like the people who buy this game didnt have to and they should have know that well max payne games tend to have a story line.
It was said by somebody else that most of the cutscenes were unnecissary. And again due to me replaying it im struggling to find them.
The most important thing for me atleast was that whever max was doing something cool or exciting, i was in control. This is much better than ALOT of games which do abuse cutscenes and take control away from the player when it should be theirs. The most famous example of this is devil may cry which didnt exactly have a rich subtext filled plot.
