So there's this game coming out soon. It's called Remember Me.

You might have seen it mentioned in some of the recent Jimquisition videos. It seems to be going a little under the radar, without much in the way of promotion. I very much doubt it will sell well.

Rather than describe it, I'll just link some trailers and previews:

I find myself ambivalent. I like the the setting, visuals and music. The premise is kinda cool and the combat looks to be at least okay. The memory puzzles could have potential, so long as they're not all as obvious as the one in the preview.

On the other hand, the dialogue in that second trailer was, yeah... less than stellar. Whoever put "now the hunted becomes the hunter" in the script needs a good slappin'. Also, all that linear platforming. I've got nothing against linear games, hell, I often prefer them, but those scripted no-options climbing sequences just seem to be missing the point. Maybe it'll be like the new Tomb Raider with a mix of scripted climbs and open areas and they just put the scripted one in the trailer because it's prettier. Hey, a guy can hope.

Thoughts?

Does anyone know anything I don't?

It looks interested but then I haven't really been following the game much beyond a passing glance every now and again.

Very cool concept art though, I've got a few pieces cycling as a background on my computer now. LINK

It still reminds me of a more dystopian Beyond Good and Evil, which I loved, so I'm hoping it does well.

The combat looks... a bit dull. So does the running and jumping. The setting look good, but hopefully there's more interesting gameplay, because that stuff didn't look very fun.

It doesn't look bad, but it feels sorta scrambled together from whatever's popular at the moment. It doesn't feel distinct enough to grab attention.

Yeah I've been keeping and eye on it since the first trailer and it looks decent, but with these sorts of games you can never be sure if the price is worth it.

I like the premise but I question how good the gameplay is going to be. In some videos it looks like its pretty generic and in others it looks really cool so I have mixed expectations right now. Ill be keeping an eye on it though, it could turn out to be really really good or it could turn out to be really really disappointing. Only time will tell

Although with the budget they put into that game I think its going to be another game where it doesn't make a profit because some out of touch executive expects it to sell a crazy amount of copies

I have been looking forward to it since it was announced. I saw that it is being released on steam which is awesome. I think it might be good.

Never heard about it before this, it seems interesting the world looks a bit like a cross over between mass effect, dishonored and psychonauts. It's apparently being developed by the French. Which well I think is good for no real reason.

I'm amazed by the concept and the Aesthetic. I'm very surprised it hasn't got more attention, which can mean the journalists playing the demo know it isn't very good or they just aren't marketing it well.

I'll try it, looking forward to a new modern semi-science fiction title untill Cyberpunk comes out.

Personally, I'm quite looking forward to it, but I think you're right this is going to fly under the radar of many people, unless it gets 10s all round.

Ever since it was pointed out (by DVS, I think) I can't help but also think of this whenever I see the title though

I think it looks pretty awful.

All I've seen from it is dodgy acting, worse writing, extremely linear platforming and a helicopter gunship sequence. If anything I think it's getting way more buzz than it deserves.

It's somewhat disturbing that even by following the game's official facebook page i've not seen more than those few updates over the course of several months.

I do like how the game looks though and the concept is pretty interesting. I'm probably going to pick it up a while after it's out. I'm not sure i could justify buying a game i know so little about on the first day it's released... I really do want it to be good though because of one very prominent reasons which shall not be named on this site.

Well, all I know is that this preview totally trashed it. (the title makes it pretty clear from the start)

A shame, cause I really like the look of the setting.

Hey you forgot one OP!

It doesn't seem to be awfully excitig stuff. Writing is blehh, character design is ehh, combat gets a big "huh?". But who cares it has a chick in it right. Wish Bayonetta got this much attention when it got released.

I want it to be good and do well, because I really think we need more solid female protagonists that aren't overly-sexualised.
