The N64 ones were quite the gems, but all the other ones sucked. Anyone ever play Sarge's War? What a terribly boring game.

I have fond memories of Sarge's Heroes in my childhood, for hours every day.

Oh yeah and that post above me reminded me that Air Attack was pretty good too.

I remember there being a bunch of those games. I never played one though. I actually don't remember ever even seeing them in stores often at the time.

Army Men 3D on the PS1 is one of my favorite old shooters.
I love the gimmick, G-rated and brutal. Blowing a persons arm off is bad, blowing a plastic mans arm off is a-ok.

I loved Sarge's Heroes. The campaign had a pretty excellent story for an N64 game, and the level design was fantastic. Me, my brother, and the neighbor would play multiplayer on desk with the GBZRK code and SLGFST code to get all the guns and max ammo then go to it. There was few things more satisfying than aiming a mortar across map and landing the kill.
Nice first post. Welcome to the Escapist.

OT: Yes. I remember the Army Men games.

I remember enjoying them quite a bit but not being very good at them. Oh well.

Good times are good times regardless.
thanks man. also just remembered that each level had a password in that game. The one that stands out is the freezer level which had a password "FRZNSLD" for 'frozen solid'

They were one of the first games I ever played with my father. Granted, he was a whole lot better at it then I was, but that's not important. I credit the series for bringing me into gaming (Along with Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter.).

Army Men Air Attack 2 was awesome and had the most stereotypical Jamaican guy ever in it.

The reason for not being on store shelves is they were the best selling games at the time, very dumbed down and marketed at the newer gaming crowd, us hardcore gamers hated them for its generic gameplay.

Its one of those "concept is better than the execution" type of game.
