I did once convince a friend he was abducted by aliens and experimented on with a really convoluted prank one april fools. He still refuses to talk to me on April first to this day for it.
There's a story behind this and I'm kind of curious how you convince someone they were abducted by aliens.
OT: I remember it was either last year, or year before last, the developers of War Thunder released an update talking about adding flying ponies to the game, obviously inspired by MLP. People laughed it off until they discovered the developer actually went to the effort to model and add multi-colored pegasi with giant miniguns strapped to them into the game for April Fool's day.
The ponies themselves were extremely powerful, having the specs and speed of a jet in a game that was largely prop engine plane combat, they were also fragile as hell, being able to shoot one down even just grazing it with a bullet. This being a progression based game, people bitched about the single day where they couldn't progress like normal, others bitched about balancing because trying to use any of the lower class planes in a match with someone using the ponies was basically a death wish, and you also got the usual crowd that loses their mind any time anything even vaguely MLP related is mentioned.
Reading the butthurt on the forums was almost as fun as playing in servers full of tiny minigun equipped pegasi blowing each other out of the sky in rainbow explosions.
