oh god...Chrono Trigger...not even the most sophisticated calculator in the world can count how many times I have played that shining example of RPG greatness.
They did everything right in that game.

It is the one sole game that I will resort to true fanboyism if anyone dares insult that game. But I would still be a reasonable fanboy, none of the flaming and what not, but that game cannot be spoken against...ever.

DLC, more than anything else adds to replay value. Look at Rock Band. I end up playing that game more often than Guitar Hero. But it is not always in the developers best interest to continue with game content. Just one or two future downloads probably wont drive sales, but it's enough for me to put the game back in for a while if I still have it.

Resident evil 4 I must have played that game through hundreds of times asspecally when I got it on Wii which revived that game alot.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 man I dunno why I like that game so much it's freaking mindless and I'm not a huge fan of Dragon Ball Z either.

The orginal Fire Emblem on GBA seeing all the different endings for all the support conversations is damn addictive love it

See? It's not because of a developer's incompetence that games suck. Games suck when game developers (who actually know how to do their job) must take decisions from people that think they know something about video games. Those decisions from publishers are bad in 99.9% of the cases but they are forced in the game.
I have actually never worked on a game that wasn't sabotaged this way in the last month of production.
I'm sorry.
I'm 15 and don't know much about the whole proccess that a game goes through.
Let me rephrase:

The idiots that somehow have more authority than the developers need to get this in their heads.

I have to finance all of my gaming and so as a high school student I don't get many games. All of this adds up to re playability being very important to me. Record was probably the nwn1 stuff. I played through the entire main campaign and hordes of the underdark once with each class. I still could probably walk you through any quest in that game. I'd say story and pacing are the most critical factors in re playability. If I feel like I"m getting somewhere replaying is a lot more entertaining.

Replay value is generally low on the pecking order of ShatnerShaman's Requirements.I accept I will try to find every nook and cranny of a game and will stop playing after a few days, which is why I buy "games fo' cheap bastards".
