I never, ever used to replay games on a harder difficulty, thinking it was a bland waste of time, but after replaying MGS4 on the hardest difficulty, I have to say, it's actually a pretty thrilling experience. The question is, have any of you replayed any game's campaign in the past, and why?

Almost any game I buy, especially Call of Duty. I just think once isn't enough for good games.

I mostly replay FPS games. Usually I play it on easy to get a grip for controls and to see where enemies come from. Then i slowly work through the difficulties.

I don't have that much money to spend on gaming anymore so I have to make the most of the games I have.

Too many games come with the hardest modes locked, requiring regular playthrough to unlock. Painkiller was a rather nice replay, as the Forest level that only appeared in the hardest difficulty was a great deal harder than any level previous.

Of course I up the difficulty! However, I'd like a game that changes its difficulty to adapt to player skills instead of difficulty levels. Is there a game like that?

I'm gonna replay Mirror's Edge on hard, as I like the game and once was not enough.
I might also replay the latter half of CoD4 on hard as well, I'm on my first play through and for some reason I went for Veteran difficulty. It just got to a point where I couldn't progress any further, I died on the same section countless times. So I changed it down to normal diffuculty and am carrying on from there. But anyway, back to my point, when I'm done on normal I might go back and redo the normal sections on veteran, but I'm not sure yet.

For some games I start on the harder difficulties if I don't think I am going to play it again...Except CoD 4, my god man talk about deep end. I did regular then Hardened and now I'm doing Veteran.

Almost all my shooter. Some RPGs if I want to play a different style (stealth instead of combat), or if I feel I missed something.

I have only ever replayed Gears of War and COD2.
I started my second play through of mass effect the other day, not just for the achievements but because i really enjoyed the game.

Replayed Chrono Cross several times. The first three times were to get all the characters, since you have to play it at least that many times to get them all. Getting different characters means taking different paths, which means different sides of the story which makes it a very nice replay.

It may be that I play too many RPGs, but I almost never replay games. I mean, Golden Sun (GBA) is a great game, but by the third replay it's boring as hell. The only game with an actual story that I do replay is Tales of Symphonia, due to its awesome storyline.

I very rarely replay games that aren't sandbox games, at least, I don't replay them to the end. Only really good games get me to replay them all the way through several times.

Last game I remember playing to death on all difficulty's was MGS 3, only because it was awesome and deserved that much, I mostly start a game on normal or medium difficulty and if
I enjoyed it I'll usually give it another play through on the hardest difficulty, let's me get waaaaaaaay more enjoyment out of the game, and gives me something to brag to my friends about, seeing as they think their the greatest things to ever play a video game,

(you beat COD4 on hardened?? well that's cool, just beat it on veteran the other day. me-1 friend-0 )
