I personally like some of the other games you listed more, but if you haven't beaten FFVIII or Chrono Cross, I would see those through to the end. Vagrant Story too. All are classic, very good games. I'd probably say in that order too.

I'd recommend seeing VIII through to the end. It's a bit slow to get started, but once you get into it, it keeps you hooked. I lost entire weekends to this when I played through for the first time. So some of the characters aren't as... loveable... as other FF games, but it doesn't stop it from being an enjoyable game.

Vagrant Story is also very well done and worth a crack. I remember loving the art in that one, it was very different from what Square were doing with Final Fantasy in those days.

But you've got a goodly amount of excellent classic games there. Whichever you pick ought to be worthwhile.

I'm looking at my shelf and decided that I want to replay one of my older rpgs on the PS2. Now you can help me decide which one! (not all rpgs I own are listed, just ones I'm interested in replaying)

ChronoCross (never beaten, got close to end)
Dark Cloud 2
Final Fantasy 8 (never beaten)
Final Fantasy 12
Grandia 2
Legend of Mana
Tales of Destiny 2
Vagrant Story (never beaten)
Wild Arms 2, 3, 5, or ACF
XenoSaga (never played)

Blast, two more than an official poll would allow... Oh well.

Thank you for the help!
I would choose FFXII, just because I personally want to replay it (since I forgot most of the plot)

BG2 is pretty easy to find online. Amazon has it, for one.

Great game, though. And it's old enough that pretty much any pc more powerful than a graphing calculator can run it at this point.

I'd also want to beat FFVIII, but my disk is damaged so it freezes during the prison sequence :(

I'd suggest FF12, there's just so much in that to do you'll never beat it 100% and it's just brilliantly made.

I got stuck because my crappy PS1 disc wouldn't read disc 3 and so I only got halfway through but damnit I want to play that game again! I don't want to start a flame-war or anything but I loved 8 so much more than the rest of the series (besides 6).
You and one other person I can't find off-hand is telling me that some disk in FF8 wont work/has glitched. Is that a common thing like it was with FF7? I'm half afraid to replay FF8 now because a disk I've owned for years and never played may not work for me. That's a terrible feeling.

Fuck all those. Play Star Ocean 2.
SO2 is amazingly awesome. But, well, I have to be at a certain level of spiff to replay its epic masterpiecefulness. And that's why it's not on my immediate replay list. You understand, right? It's also why I didn't list Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, the PS1 release of Chrono Trigger, BreathofFire3, and Valkyrie Profile - amongst others.
