Recently i played Bioshock for the second time and i was amazed at how much i have been enjoying the experience as the first time i played it i thought it was just an over-hyped generic FPS. I'm not sure why i like it now but i cant put it down.

Has this happened to you?
If so with what game?

No More Heroes, the GC Pokemon games, every Star Fox game... They all seemed generic, bland, regular games, and as I played through them the first time, I was proven wrong, but still didn't enjoy it THAT much.

Star Fox: If I still had a copy of Assault I'd be playing it.

Colosseum and XD: Same.

NMH: I haven't put it down since I started replaying it on Bitter mode.

Fallout 3.

Hopefully it will happen with mass effect 2.
I actually went the other way with Fallout 3. I loved it to begin with but when i played it again it just seemed pointless with the lame story.

I find myself replaying alot of games, mario 64, OoT, halo 3 just to name a few. The games I have are ones that can keep me entertained for a long time.

I replay pretty much all my games at least once. I always see them in a different light on a replay. Most of the time it's not as good as the first playthrough, but sometimes a game grows on me and I start to enjoy it more.
For example:
Every time I play Halo I like it better. Used to be a generic shooter for me, not bad, but nothing really interesting either. But I really get to like the atmosphere and the feel of the game.

Same here,to that and your bioshock experience. I play alot of single player RPG's and whilst new games come and go i always find myself going back to my old favourites like neverwinter nights, morrowind,KOTOR and oblivion. I'll stop replaying them when they lose their replay value.....(never)

But as far as enjoying a game more second time through its pretty common for me,with most action games/fps's i tend to do a second playthrough on the highest difficulty and this is normally far more fun.

Resident Evil 4. I lost count of how many times I played through it. I played through it enough to know the game well enough to do a fairly respectable speedrun of it.

I played through Half Life 2 a bunch of times too, and Tales of Symphonia a couple of times as well.

Very few recent games have held much replay value to me, though. Only Resident Evil 5 holds that place for more recent games. It's vastly inferior to Resident Evil 4 in my opinion, but it's still a good game if you can get past Sheva's crappy AI. Just don't try playing on Professional on your own. You will end up tearing your hair out a lot of the time.

I wouldn't even try to count all the times I've played through the Homeworld series, or FreeSpace 2...

Space combat sims and RTS:s are the cause of some serious addictions of mine.

KotOR
Halo 1
Mass Effect
FEAR (parts of it)
Fahrenheit
Baldur's Gate
Diablo II
System Shock
Half Life

It's mostly older games though (apart from FEAR and ME), as I had little money to buy new ones at the time. Now though I buy more than I can play.

Been replaying I Wanna Be the Guy to try and finish it this time. >.<

Other then that been replaying; Morrowind, Freelancer, Heroes of Might and Magic (Three and four), Abe's Exoddus for the bazillionth time looking for all the secret areas, STALKER and Star Control 2.

Haven't played many recent games or new games in awhile.

The reason for the replaying binge is a love these games a hell of a lot. Most recent titles haven't grabbed my interest enough (most recent purchase was AvP) and all these old school games are incredibly fun and I enjoy them even more with each play through.
