It's rather rare for me to replay any recent games simply because they require more time than old games. I did replay Dragon Age a second time right after finishing it the first time though, and I really did enjoy it even more the second time.

I've played almost every GTA game multiple times, Ninja Gaiden also had a replay. And I did God of War 1 and 2 numerous times, just for blood.

The first time I played Fallout 3 I just didn't get into it, then a few weeks later, over-hearing some people talk about it, I decided to give it another go and haven't looked back since, have been through it many times.

Oh and games like Mass Effect 1,2 the GTA games etc. I have played many times over and over.

Replay value isn't something I think you can really use to make a decision on buying a game, as you just don't know if you'll truly enjoy it enough to replay it, not until you've finished it.

I did that with Final Fantasy 7, I thought it was overhyped and rubbish when I first played it. Now it's my favourite in the series. Same goes for Fallout 3 and World of Warcraft.

There are also some games I loved first time, then deemed overhyped on a second playthrough. Icewind Dale immediately springs to mind, but I'm sure there's more.

I am currently replaying Alundra 1. Although I did enjoy that the first time back in the day so it isn't 100% what you are asking.

I've replayed lots of games.

If you truly enjoy a game and consider it great, then there should be nothing holding you back from experiencing it all over again.

Fallout 3.

Hopefully it will happen with mass effect 2.
I actually went the other way with Fallout 3. I loved it to begin with but when i played it again it just seemed pointless with the lame story.
I have to disagree with you sir :p
Fallout 3 was amazing on 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 12th playthrough ;) at least for me! :p

Recently i played Bioshock for the second time and i was amazed at how much i have been enjoying the experience as the first time i played it i thought it was just an over-hyped generic FPS. I'm not sure why i like it now but i cant put it down.

Has this happened to you?
If so with what game?
I can't think of games I didn't enjoy at first and then enjoyed, but I do go and install some of my favorite games every year and replay them to a point, Diablo 2, Theif, Oblivion and some others.

Hmmm, I agree with Azothei, I really didn't enjoy my second play through of the game simply because it all seemed so... pointless. The first time around to I simply lost interest after I had enough ammo to line the rooms up with gunpowder and enough med kits to make a bullet proof fort. Granted the bullet proof fort wouldn't help me much once the huge ammounts of gunpowder start esploding but it still made general encounters a bit dull and pointless. I'll tell you this though, for the first hours of gameplay it was the most immersive game I've played and it was definitely worth the experience.

Happened to me with Fallout 2.
The first time I played, I was about 10 years old and I had no idea what I was doing. When Fallout 3 was announced I dug it out and played again. It's one of my favorite games of all times ever since.

Another one was Warhammer 40k: Chaosgate. I recently got a copy of it and it's a lot more fun than I remember.

I'm way overdue for my quarterly Ocarina of Time playthrough. I just can't put down FFXIII long enough to do it lol.

First time I played Fallout 3 I didn't get far and didn't care. Now I love it. I think it's the mods.
Some games I can't really say are 'replayable' for me because I don't have any intention of ever finishing them even though I really like them. Main example: Morrowind and Oblivion. Fallout 3 is the only Bethesda game I've ever considered actually completing.
I like to replay Freelancer every now and then. This last time I played I found some mods for it, never really knew they were out there.

At least once a year i search the closet for Freelancer and install it again. The mods keep getting updated so it's even more awesome each time i play it.
