A while ago I started playing Rockman X4. Took me a while to find again but I did it. Started it up, and on came nostalgia.

However, I didn't recall the levels themselves being THAT easy. I always remembered me dying a lot in this game, but it was just so easy I couldn't imagine that I was this bad it.

Then, when I neared the end of the level, I remembered why I spent this much time on the game: The bossfights are just so. damn. difficult. Take the 'Cyber Peacock' for example: Homing feathers for which you need a Jet Li degree of skill to dodge. It was just so insane.
Sounds like a typical Mega Man game. I purchased Mega Man 9 recently and god damn, if I make it through the levels, I just get screwed over by the bosses. (I think Rockman is Mega Man, correct me if I'm wrong)
Yeah it's the same thing. It's especially annoying because when it's game over you have to go through the entire level again.

Hey guys, Pandah dropping in with another topic, unfortunately I can't really think of anything too great at the moment, but since I just recently started playing Zelda:Ocarina of Time again, I figured I'd make a topic dedicated to some old games we all go back to playing.(ends run on sentence)

So as I've said, I just started playing Zelda again on the N64, and its still as awesome as it ever was. My only gripe though is that the N64 controller stick freakin hurts my thumb after a while. I never remember this as a kid, but now playing it again, OUCH! I don't know how I could've sat in front of the TV hours on end using that controller.

I'm also playing Winback as well, The controls are a bit clunky, but its still as great as I remember it. I can still hum along with the music from it too =P This is the Winback on the N64 as well, not the PS2.

So what games are you guys/gals replaying nowadays?

*This is mostly due to me having to send out my 360 that didn't red ring...just had video display problems Q_Q*
Since my 360 got the rrod I've been playing my PS2 and gotten back into MMOs.
In all honesty, I found myself to be grateful that my 360 had died. I was sad that I had to send in my 2 1/2 years old Xbox, but at the same time, I have more time to do other stuff...like talk to you guys! And...play these old games!

Yup, same with Mega Man 9. Unfortunately with me, that has a negative effect and I don't want to play through the whole level again, so I end up just shutting the game off and never playing it again.

Legend of Dragoon.
*at age 10*
Rose is cool!
*at age 17*
Rose is a 11,000 year-old dominatrix slut. Interesting how I missed that as a child.
*looks at reactions at different ages* Is there really a difference? =P
Considering my avatar and username, do you really think that I find ancient whores of darkness cool?

I recently finished Ninja Gaidens for SNES, Megaman Battle Network and Megaman Zero games for GBA, now I'm finishing Sam and Max Hit the Road.

Most fun I've had since... Tropical Thunder. Half a year, nice.

For Christmas I got a used Gamecube from my girlfriend since mine went kaput ages ago, so I've been revisiting a lot of my old GC games, i.e. Metroid Prime, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Pikmin, and Wave Race: Blue Storm.

(I know that last one is just a horrible game by pretty much any measurement. I don't know why I like it at all, but I'll just play it and play it and hours go by. I guess sometimes there's no accounting for taste.)

Pretty much the same as the OP, been playing through Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask on my N64 a couple of times over the years, though i dont really mind the analog stick, as getting a soar thumb is just nostalgic greatness :p, i remember when i was young playing N64/PS1 all day long, man o man were my thumbs messed up or what xD

But yeah, i enjoy playing through old games just as a reminder of how great gaming used to be when Gameplay and Story was the most important thing, unlike today when its all about the graphics, only next-gen title i've really enjoyed was Assassin's Creed, and that was only cause of its original gameplay and great story, i've tried GTA IV, Gears of War 1/2 and the rest of all the mediocre FPS games released this gen, and they all pretty much suck balls.

Gaming was better in the past!

Hmm, playing the original Suikoden again since I can now buy it on PSN for $6.
God I hate the austrian PSN. There is no SF II HD Remix, no Suikoden and lots of other cool games I want.

Well then I have to play my Pixeljunk Eden.

Wish I could find a copy of System Shock. Everywhere I look its $80 bucks. Thinking of using more unscruplious sources.

I have been going real old school myself. Ogre Battle and E.V.O.

Sadly I replayed Final Fantasy VI for the Gameboy Advance while in Europe in September and I found myself saddened that I didn't enjoy it as much as I used too. I kept wishing the plot was more fleshed out mostly, and that the world felt more real and less assembled out of gameplay necessity.

These days, I am struggling to escape from a rut [http://dsob.wordpress.com/2009/01/07/i-need-to-go-soak-my-head/] of playing the same old titles.

So, I actually went into my Add/Remove programs and removed some of the games I know I'm sick of despite the fact I keep trying to get back into them. E.g. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

In short, I've decided that replaying old titles is a bad, bad idea. You close your mind to trying to enjoy new games, and end up sitting around whining about how no game seems to entertain you anymore.

I decided to get my Gamecube out again, and I've been playing Zelda: Wind Waker a lot. For some reason, I always stop halfway through. Not this time, says I! I'm going to stick with it till the end!

Also, getting Unreal Anthology for $5 new has made me a happy sombrero. I used to play UT on the PS2 all the time.

What OS are you using for SS2? I tried to go back and play it on an XP system some years back but I could never make it stable.

I occasionally pop open my copy of Knights of the Old Republic. They help me forget the prequels

(Starts crying to self)
