I don't like MMOs and I rarely play multiplayer so most of my games consist of single player and I replay them a lot if I like the story or dialogue. If the game is good I enjoy it, sometimes more if it needs me to get accustomed to it (I enjoyed my second run of Baldur, Planescape or Icewind more than the first) sometimes less (DA:O, ME)
This.

There are only 2 ways I play video games: play the single-player and replay the single-player.
Come for the story; stay for the 100%.
And This.

I don't buy multiplayer games (apart from Rock Band) and those I do I never EVER play online. I'm a PS3 player, but if it wasn't for all the news on the Escapist, I wouldn't even know that the PSN is down (I might think there was a software update that I was ignoring).

I miss local multiplayer. If I want to play with friends, I have to pull out old PS2 games (because I will not play with strangers on the internet)!

I never replay games. It's not cuz I don't enjoy it, I'm dying to find out what happened if you were good in inFamous for example, I just don't have the time or effort, unfortunately.

It only really depends on if I find the single player mode worth multiple playthroughs.

For example: all the little random side areas and hilarious portions of dialog in Portal and Portal 2 make those games an absolute blast to play through multiple times. On the other hand, I've never really had a desire to completely replay a Call of Duty game, since they all are extremely linear and are set up in such a way that once you've played through it once you've seen practically everything the game has to offer.

The only game I replayed and didn't get bored of was fallout 3. This was the type of game where you sort of knew that you were stumbling through it and barely surviving. Then you would replay it and see where your new skill and knowledge can take you.

I really liked replaying the MW2 campaign, I've beaten it on veteran at least three times, and more than i can count on normal, I just liked how it was cheesy but in the good hollywood kinda way.

You mean over a long period of time, or as soon as I finished the first playthrough I begin another? Over a period of time I end up replaying most great games, usually between a year or several years after my first time...

But playing a game and then immediately playing it again? Hardly ever happens for me except for the truly exceptional games. I did it recently for Portal 2, but before that I can't even remember the last time I did it.

Ill usually replay them Like rewatching a beloved film

however its more tempting just to get another game (especially if its cheap) than replay

some games are an exception, Mass effect 1 and 2 is probably the one game series out of ALL my games that Ive fully replayed over and over

Fallout 3, although i've finally finished milking that cow, for now.
Borderlands, you get the ability to have 3 play-throughs which are increasingly difficult, the choice of four characters to play, and if you thought single player was good, get going with a mate or two online it just gets better and better. Nearly milked the cow on that one too.
Bioshock, great story, and a replay gives you that moral choice again, will i or won't i be evil to small girls....?

There's been others, but as many games i've replayed their are quite a lot that i've finished and will never play again, worst being terminator salvation, oh the shame, please don't tell my friends.

It's funny but I don't replay single player campaigns very often. Even if I really liked the game. I'm replaying Portal 2 right now but that's mainly because I want to check out any nooks and crannies I didn't explore properly/get all those achievements I missed. But this is the first game in a long time that I've replayed in the same month that I beat it.

If I do replay a game, it will usually be something I haven't played in years. Although, if more and more games continue a trend of implementing achievement systems, then I'll have more reason to replay certain ones.

Well, yeah. All the time. Doesn't everyone?

I don't really play multiplayer, so the single player campaign is kind of the entire point for me. Unless I really can't stand the game, I usually end up playing it a couple of times. I seem to have a really high tolerance for this, because I like improving and meeting a higher level of challenge, or whatever else. Or just because I really like the game and think it's awesome.

Well, let's see... I've logged about 14-15 playthroughs of Resident Evil 4, trying out various weapon combos and challenges. Still haven't beaten the "No Merchant Challenge", not because of difficulty, but because of lack of difficulty. I had beaten the game twice on normal and the other 12 times on Professional, so the game wasn't too hard at that point.

The Hitman series is another good example. So many different ways to play out the missions. Hell, on the first one I tried to see if I could fail the Budapest mission by killing EVERYONE. I think I managed to run out of money once.

Resonance of Fate, I've played through 3 times. Normal, Hard, Hard again.

Apart from the above example, I don't think there are any games I've played more than once this console generation.

I do replay them, most of my games are single player games and I dont enjoy the self repeating game style multiplayers have (FPS games, RTS games where you play over the same maps all over again and just try to win / get highest score) the only type of multiplayer game I enjoy are split screen games with friends & MMO's, altho the MMO market is too thin atm for my taste.

the things I mostly like about single player games are:
- I can play whenever I want and put the game on pause whenever I want
- Story, I am a big sucker for good storys (Dragon Age, Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect, KOTOR's etc...)
- Doing things diffrently next time, trying new routes in missions like in Red Dead, Operation Flashpoint, Doing diffrent choices in RPG's
- Achviement whoring, yes believe it or not but sometimes trying to get all the achviements in games can be quite challenging and a good way to kill some time + in single players no one is going to destroy your attempts at achviement collecting

and as for the last question: 1st playtrough is allways the best becose you dont know what comes up next

Games that dont really involve alot of story i can replay alot, but when it is story heavy (especially when they have the whole choice options) i cant replay them. i find in games like DA:O i play as myself in choices and i feel weird if i dont.
