Wow, just wow. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't pull the pc release over this, okay i can see why they wouldn't but hell they could pull it for a year or so until they fix the drm and out of protest over those guys being utter pricks.


sure i can understand piracy at times, but hell.... this is just plain evil.

i know this has probably already been said but it reminds me of the hl 2 leak, but at least this doesnt include to source.

So far, piracy has not had a big effect on larger developers/publishers. Most titles are released pirated before the release as it is. Just usually not this early.

What actually was the DRM? I'd say if it was particularly controversial or intrusive, and now it turns out it's going to get broken a month before release, I'd consider releasing the game with a patch to remove or downgrade the DRM, no sense annoying the legit buyers, the pirates will have had a go and moved on by then.

Unfortunately, I'd say that, even if this does very well and sells a ton, it won't help, because people are already convinced that piracy destroyed the sales of this one.

I'm guessing someone got fired and pissed at the lousy sendoff, no dev would send out their own work unless they were out to hurt people, and yes when you get source code it is always an inside job.

Unless it's a really bad build this will probably kill their PC sales.

Lol. It's Crysis 2. Warhead was the expansion to 1 (although it would have made an awesome standalone, in my opinion).

Why the hating on the PC scene ... this leak must of been from inside , or a pathetic security loophole on the Crytek server that holds the builds.
I'll bet its a insider job, one of the builds going out to the publishers and eary access journalists got split to the net.

... or if you are a serious conspiricy , tin foild cap wearing viewer , its a setup for extra publicity... like the HL 2 leak.

If a 360 build got leaked, would the console get the same hate ? Those who pirate this build had intended to pirate the game long before the leak, us legitimate potential customers on the PC platform do NOT deserve to be tarred with the same brush.

Oh prepare for trouble (and make it double), but it seems to be legit.

I'm actually looking forward to Crysis 2 (though I was going to wait a month or two as there are other games I'm after) and while it was guaranteed that it would be on a pirate site withing a week of release this is something else.

Since it's still to go Gold maybe they can do something small to mitigate the damage.
