As the Hitman franchise has taught us, looks can be deceiving. Concealing your true nature by adapting the image of something else entirely is a useful skill in assassinating. This skill is definitely seen in the marketing, as Hitman: Agent 47's director Aleksander Bach has announced that the trailer was a lie and the movie will be made as a snuff film.
"You know that feeling when you have a great big secret and you can't tell anyone but you REALLY want to? That's how I felt when the trailer released and I couldn't tell you the real truth. Now here I am, spoiling the surprise but god does it feel good to let it all out" said Bach.
We asked why release such a trailer if it wasn't what the movie would be like and how the MPAA would react to such a film.
"Today's movies have no sense of surprise or mystery anymore. Every little aspect is critiqued and spread to every f**ker with a keyboard and an internet connection. By the time the movie's actually released, you'll probably know everything that'll happen before you even take a seat. I wanted to make a movie that captures that element of surprise while also remaining true to the Hitman franchise."
"The whiny parents over at the MPAA wouldn't know what the words 'artistic integrity' meant if we threw a dictionary at them! The industry needs bold, innovative film-makers like myself to make things great again. If they can't see the genius that radiates from this movie then we as a species are doomed to smear our own feces on the wall and call it great" said Bach.
Bach also explained why he had chosen to make a snuff film with the Hitman name attached to it.
"Tits, tits, more tits, headshots, explosions, kinky leather, spooky skeletons, more explosions, torture scenes, tit headshots, exploding tits, explosions with tits, skeletons in leather and all other shocking content is the CORE of what makes a Hitman experience. To really capture that on film requires the loss of actual human life. Don't worry, it's just some hobo we found on sleeping outside the studio. Also, he's white so we're not expecting any complaints from anyone. Works for us" said Bach
When asked whether Jesper Kyd would compose the score for the film, Bach pleaded the Fifth.
