First Gory game you ever played thread:

For me,my first gory game was quake when i was six..and then a couple of years later i played quake 2.

And so begun the insanity that was my existence on the escapist, to the absolute detriment of everyone else. Incidentally, thanks for tolerating me everyone...even though 90% have absolutely no idea who i am.

Well, the biggest change for me would be that I would lose most of my friends after getting my ass kicked by them. And my parents would have a hard time accepting it, especially my dad.

But, nothing would really change. I'd just go: "So, I'm going from not getting any from girls, to not getting any from guys? Well, business as usual then. I'm gonna go play Saints Row 2".

I used to fear death but not anymore. I'm not looking forward to death because I love life. Here is a reason of why we shouldn't fear death. If nothing waits for us, that's not bad really. Think about, there was once a time before we were born. The only thing we truly fear about death, is the pain of dieing, and losing our grip of existence at the last second. I love life, we all love life, but what keeps us from enjoying life is fearing it's end.

That was posted waaaaaaaay back in September 2010 on the post 'Why do you fear death?'. It was posted during my extremely philosophical period. I'm actually quite pleased with it.

I may as well say something, My worst was probably with these little midgets when I was 10.
I was a pretty big kid (by then I was about 5,1 ft) and these little midgets felt it necessary to piss me off for no reason. The annoying thing was, they were faster than me, and while they were running they kept calling me a pussy (I know they're real stupid) and if I caught them I'd get in trouble because they'd put together some sad story about how I came and beat them up for no reason."

This was when I was going through the self pitying, "I was bullied as a kid", stage.
Man Its strange looking at the things I said 3 years ago, I kinda want to slap my younger self thinking back on it.

EDIT OF THE GODS: Also he gets a slap for having terrible grammar. I mean shit I know he's 13, but damn!

Hello Escapist members in general. So I've finally got the courage to join the site (a big deal for me,it's the first time I've joined any site) as it's got such a good/friendly forum.

I'm naturally shy when dealing with people I don't know so I've held off from joining. While this probably isn't uncommon, I've been a daily visitor to the forums for the last 18 MONTHS. I first found the escapest 4 months earlier through the zero punctuation videos.

So I ask you, how long after you found the site did you actually join? Has anyone seriously taken longer than me to join?

My first post was also my first and only thread, where I asked the question "How long was it for you between finding the escapist and joining?"

I have 30 piercings, they've built up over 8ish years (I'm 20)

I have 20 in my ears, 4 lips, 2 nose, 1 tounge, 1 eyebrow, 1 serptum and 1 smiley.

It sounds a lot I know, but it doesn't even look "extreme"

Back in my day everyone go into McDonald without giving a danm about their health amd the burgers were in plastic packaging (they replace it with cardboard since that type of plastic didn't decompose.
Back in my day McDonald Happy Meal used to contain chicken nuggests, chips, a soda and a toy not replacing it with fruits and health drink.
Back in my day Disney XD was called Jetix (in some country)but it was called Fox Kid before calling it Jetix but it original name was called Fox Kid Network.
Back in my day there was a program block called Toonami and it was awesome.
Back in my day children programs were only cartoons and good one as well.
Back in my day the tv used to have cartoon ceral adverts that promote new toys in the ceral (stupid new tv rules).
Back in my day a game magazine sometime come with a cheat book which contain tons of game cheat and passwords in alphabet orders.

It was pretty much one of those "Back in my day" thread.

No FF13 is NOT a game to leave your series at because it took me twenty fucking hours of gaming to get to point that is enjoyable (and it wasn't), which is unknown to me because every FF I've played had me hooked in 5 mins EVEN 12 I loved twelve and if they stop the series at 13 and the new online one I'm gonna be super pissed and never buy another SE product ever again

Uhm, I wasn't very partial to the first episode of Yu-Yu-Hakusho but as I got more into it, I really started to appreciate it more.

How could I? Simple...It's very popular and I've never seen it. So my friend loaned me the dvd and told me to watch it in Japanese.It was awful. The english dub was very good and much better to endure than the japanese dub but the show was awful. And the reason I'm starting hate anime because of it.

Seeing how you watched the DVD, I assume you watched the episodes in the DVD order ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Melancholy_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya_episodes ), and I can't help but think this is part of the reason why you did not like the series. I really enjoyed the series, but I watched the episodes in the non-linear broadcast order.
Of course there is the possibility that you just don't like that kind of anime.

This gives me an interesting idea, though. I think I will go create a poll to see if the order in which you watch the episodes is relevant to whether you like the series or not.

On topic: I think Lucky star would be a bad 'first' anime, as it seems you have to already be a part of the anime crowd to get it.

Hm... I guess it all depends...

Sure, it would be lots of fun to shoot lighting from my hands (especially at people who bug me), but then I wouldn't be able to swim or stand in the rain or even take a shower for the rest of my life (Though if I could pick my power, then I'd go the shape-shifting route).

And there's the whole matter of killing thousands just to activate it that makes the choice difficult. I'd probably gather enough criminals and other sociopaths and activate it there.

My first post was asking what you would do if they could get powers ala inFAMOUS.

...And of course, I misunderstood the question, and thought it meant getting the same powers as Cole.

(And for the record, if I could pick a power, I'd go with shape-shifting)
