O.M.F.G....and to think I was actually thinking of playing CV at several points. So glad the mild curiosity always subsided on its own.

Mechanically speaking it's one of the better old-school REs. It's just that the story is monumentally stupid, even by RE standards.

How dumb does it get? Let's say, compared to the later parts of RE5?

Resident Evil 5's stupid is actually awesome compared to Code Veronica's Stupid.

When it comes to the classic old school games this is how I ranked them from best to worse:

Resident Evil 1 Remake (HAVE MY BABIES)
Resident Evil Zero (More RE Remake for me and I actually like the removal of the Item Box)
Resident Evil Outbreak games (The Most Survival Horror of the classic games)
Resident Evil 2 (I just think the Sixth Generation Console games were the best, but this is still a good one)
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (Still good, but a bit too hard for me)
Resident Evil Code Veronica (The worse of the Survival Horrors games except that it would be beaten by)
Resident Evil 1 Original (This game has aged worse then NES games)

The reason why I rank Remake 1, Zero, and Outbreak so highly was because really, the graphical leap between the PS1 games to PS2/Gamecube was MASSIVE. And because of it, it made the RE games imo all the more "scarier" because of the much more scarier art style. I mean look at this:

This looks more surivival horror then the PS1 games imo.

RE5 is like a bad, 0% self-awareness Saturday-morning cartoon; Code Veronica is stupid campy Gothic shlock that's too weird and too infantile to be scary or compelling on any level.

It would be more like HD remastered than proper remake.

If there is no HD remastered at all, who cares about a "proper" remake? RE1 Remake did it right, and ever since, people has been waiting for RE2 to receive the same treatment.

Hmm, looking pretty good so far, I want to see more before I make a final judgement though. Also, is it just me or did capcom turn up the two mains looking more like models then normal people?

Eh to be fair the RE-2 cast have always looked like models even in their orignal depcitions. The most nomral RE characters ever looked was the first game's Remake (minus RE 7 mind you)
