They're making you hate them because they're making one of the best games ever made more easily available to people? Really? That's like saying DVD releases of movies shouldn't have happened because they're available on VHS. Or Blu-Ray movies shouldn't have happened because they're available on DVD. Or iTunes shouldn't have happened because music was available on discs at some point etc.

Why is video game industry the only one where people lose their shit when something gets re-released on a newer platform? It's the same fuckin' principle.

Capcom remasters an old game for a newer platform, surprising no one. Why create something new when when they can just re-export the old?

But you're right of course. I was just thinking how pathetic it is that Paramount Pictures released The Godfather trilogy on Blu-Ray after already releasing it on everything else. Aren't we sick of that trilogy already? Why not just make another one?

You're only criticizing this because you think that's expected of you as being a part of this new twisted gaming community where people just ***** about every little thing for no reason and without thinking. It's textbook pack mentality, plain and simple. For the love of god start using your own judgement. This is a perfectly normal and justifiable thing to do and nobody is forcing you to buy it. It's there for people who want it. Did you not once stop to consider that some people actually want to play this game on their new consoles? That there are people who never played it like kids who were too young to play this game when it was first released or their first console might be the PS4 or Xbone? For the love of whatever you might hold sacred, THINK!

Or possibly because along with this, all they do is remake old games 95% of the time. You seem to be under the impression this hasn't been re-released a crazy amount of times. If it was the first remake, or even the second remake, sure. But it's been re-released 6 times, not including these latest planned releases. Two separate releases on the PC, a release for the 360 and PS3 after it re-released on PS2, a Wii release, all that after the original Gamecube version.

But I'm not here for a debate or to even justify my opinion, if you don't like my opinion, you are free to move on.

This is a perfectly normal and justifiable thing to do and nobody is forcing you to buy it. It's there for people who want it.

It's also a perfectly normal and justifiable thing to roll one's eyes at plain, lazy greed from companies.

Doesn't bother me at all as I've never cared for Resi (people have always nagged me about playing 4 and I still think it looks bloody awful), but neither does people complaining about re-releases/updates/remasters/re-whatevers.

I seriously hope that you don't think AAA publishers release new games because they really love video games. They're motivated by the same greed as when they re-release old ones. But gamers don't mind because they're getting something out of it. So it's pure self-interest.

Excellent news! I bought Resident Evil: Revelations 2 not too long ago and all I could think while playing it was "Sweet merciful Molestia this is terrible, I wish I was playing Resi 4."

But, Jensen's somewhat worrying outburst aside, I completely agree with this. How is this so bad? It hurts literally no one, it affects no one except those who wish to own RE4 on their new systems, and I am really, really tired of this perpetual motion machine of misplaced anger.

Jensen's right, no one gets upset when old movies get released on new media. Hell, no one cares when old novels get reprinted in a new edition. The profit motive is the same behind all these decisions, but for some reason when Capcom does it it's because they are lazy greedy jerks who want to hurt you.

I don't understand this reaction in the slightest. Maybe it's our sense of nostalgia. Nostalgia can make you feel like you own a piece of something, but the only thing you own is the particular copy of the game you bought, and the memories it produced. And no one can take those memories from you, not even Capcom.

I've only got the PS2 version of it and I absolutely loved it. Sure, it's corporate greed and laziness blah blah blah, but I know I'll be getting it given that I actually play on my Xbox One and PS4 on a regular basis.
