Great game.

Poor Resident Evil game.

As an action third person shooter it was a lot of fun but it dropped any pretense of being scary or creepy.
No,your thinking of 5. 4 maintained it well enough.
I agree that 5 was even less scary then 4 was, but I still maintain that 4 lacked the atmosphere of dread that permeated Resident Evil 1 and 2. Mind you, I'm still not saying it was bad, it was tons of fun. It just wasn't in the same genre as the ones before it (Mostly RE1 and 2, the others got progressively worse)
The early resident evil games were basically key hunting quests, with a dash of frenetic action sprinkled in. Although, i do digress, the later titles (4&5) have lost a lot of the original horror aspect, but at this point, I was so utterly disappointed with 5, that I may have started to idealize 4 as being better than it was.

Great action game, but I did miss all the adventure puzzle elements of the original Resident Evil games.

It's fun as hell.
However, the second time through, trying to get the Typewriter, is not as fun.
That Typewriter shredded everyting to splinters. That gun was so overpowerd that it wasn't really fun to shoot.
Eh, just one of those 'for the hell of it guns' that I want to get.

I didn't like it that much because I played it on the PC, which constantly reminded me of my hate for developers who mistreat the PC crowd with god awful ports.

I had no problems with the Resi 5 inventory space, i dont see the problem with it

Resi 4 was better but resi 5 is still a decent game to play.

Well, to me, Resident Evils have never been that scary. I guess demons are scarier than zombies. Also, Resident Evil has never been psychological horror in my eyes, and jump-out-of-your-seats moments are scary, they're just startling. Also, there are plenty of horror games that are far scarier than ANY Resident Evil games, like Condemned, F.E.A.R., Call of Cthulhu and even Dead Space. All of them are either FPSs or third-person shooters.

I liked it a lot. The only thing that bothered me was that I had to help that girl and keep her safe, but other then that I play the game whenever possible.

The first Resident Evil Game i really enjoyed playing because there were no camera angles like in RE 1 or Zero.Ashley was the only annoying thing in the game ,everything else was great/good.

I had lots of fun with this game too, I was ashamed of myself that I didn't play the game sooner.

However I didn't have as much fun with it as I did with Resident Evil 2.

I agree that it successfully changed things up from a formula that had been repeated in terms of gameplay mechanics and I think it's a fun and relatively easy game to pick up and play, all I'm trying to say is that it doesn't have the same feel as previous Resident Evil games. It's simply in a different genre.

I personally liked it, but like previous posters, not my favorite Resident Evil game. It was my first one, since I found it in a bargain bin at Gamestop and decided to give it a go, and I really enjoyed it. Years later (about 4 months ago) I started to get into the other RE games. Personally, I think REmake is way too hard for my liking, but I love 2, 3, CVX and 0 is pretty good. I also tried 5, and it's by far my least favorite however. I'll get it when it comes out for the PC just for the story, but that's about it.
