Any 360 users done downloading yet? What do you think about it? Did it come out on the PSN marketplace too?
Well I can understand not liking the type of gameplay that RE5 has, its an acquired taste. This one seems like a very faithful sequel to RE4, the controls follow the same logic as the last one.mattttherman3 said:I downloaded it, played it, hated it, I'm sorry but this game isn't for me, what did it was you can't move while shooting, melee does little(your punch does better than the knife), and using both trigers to fire a wepon is bullshit, any game with guns should have hip fire and this one does not.
Same old argument. "It's Resident Evil, it's always been like this." Bullshit. Just because it's always been the same, doesn't mean they can't change it. The only reason they kept the whole not moving while aiming thing is because the AI is shit and the game would be way too easy. As it stands, while it's a good game and I'll still be getting it, it feels like a step backwards from Dead Space.apsham said:...you do realize you're not playing some run and gun game, right? This has the Resident Evil name imprinted on it.. it's not like a spin-off or anything. That is pretty much expected gameplay by design.
Have you ever played a Resident Evil or what? If this game was like the same old crap you get in Halo and Call of Duty it wouldn't be the same, I'm guessing you got killed by the first zombie you went up against, don't judge a game because you don't like the system, stick to your lousy games where you shoot from the hip.mattttherman3 said:I downloaded it, played it, hated it, I'm sorry but this game isn't for me, what did it was you can't move while shooting, melee does little(your punch does better than the knife), and using both trigers to fire a wepon is bullshit, any game with guns should have hip fire and this one does not.
Agree with you there. Admittedly, i haven't played through a RE title from start to finish, so flame me on that. I can also see that they want to conserve a certain gameplay style so that old fans of the series won't be disappointed, and that being limited in your actions can add to the game's thrill. However, if a zombie slowly walks away from you and you have to put away your knife in order to catch up the two or three steps he made, just to ready your knife again in the hope he's not walked any further by the time you can actually hit him is a bit ridiculous. While i don't want to change the gameplay to run&gun, being able to walk _slowly_ while attacking wouldn't destroy the game's feel and remove an artificial and unrealistic handicap.scnj said:Same old argument. I know it's synonymous with the game, but it makes the game feel dated and less fun.apsham said:...no, it's because it's a GAMEPLAY style that is synonymous with the game and fits the genre rather perfectly.scnj said:Same old argument. Funny, I thought they were Ganados, not zombies. And if they were the running "zombies" as promised by the first trailer, not the walk slowly towards you with an axe "zombies" that we actually get, the ability to move slowly while aiming wouldn't make me feel invulnerable at all.Zombies.
Zombies don't need great AI. The stop and shoot is to make you feel less invulnerable. We are not talking about the old 'pivot & pray' resi style. R4 is still one of the best action games out there.
I think it's fair to judge a game by its 'system'. It's the control of and the gameplay that are major factors in people's view of a game.Kyuumi said:Have you ever played a Resident Evil or what?
