Can't quite explain why, but for some reason I am feeling compelled to pick up RE5 for the PC.

Just curious what the community's opinions of the game are? Worth getting? Are there still a decent amount of people that go online with it?

How's the game in general?

Thanks!

Honestly, it's probably the worst game I've played this generation. An insult to previous Resident Evil games and has no redeeming qualities other than graphics.

Even then the graphics weren't that great

While I don't know about the online(borrowed it from a friend a while ago). The game itself is fun, but the controls are annoying if you treat the game as a shooter. The game does need a fixed framerate to play, or it will skip parts of animations and I've found that aiming with the mouse barely works unless you do it with 60fps.

Now I think about it again, yeah they're not even that amazing. Ddid you find the way the camera panned from side to side with the motion blur effect really annoying? It's the only game to have ever given me a headache after 30 mins or so.

I think the game is alright. It plays mostly like Resident Evil 4.
The pc port for RE5 is a billion times better than the one for RE 4, though. You can easily make it look better than either console version.
Honestly, if you are going to own a version of Resident Evil 5, I think the pc version is the best one to get as long as you have a machine that can run it.

Also, the mouse and keyboard controls are very very good, but if for any reason you don't care for them the game has full Xbox 360 controller support, and allows you the switch between the two control styles on the fly. To switch to mouse and keyboard, pres a button on the keyboard, and to switch to the controller press a button on the controller. That's it. I honestly wish more pc ports were this well constructed.

I know there's a benchmark utility that you can download for free to see if you system runs the game well enough. However I'm not sure if there's a playable demo. I do reccomend you give the game a try yourself instead of listening to the opinions of the haters on this board.

Yes, RE5 was disappointing in comparison to RE4. That does not in any way mean that RE5 is a bad game.

Now aside of all the hatred that makes the internet such a warm and cosy place to live in, not having played any previous resident evils, I found Re5 quite fun, especially in co-op.

I found it a bit too gold -like and wet, and chris arms would go through things like his chest cos the animator wasn't a walking brick house like him. The blood looked like tar.

But to answer your question i didn't notice the blur effect.

Thanks alot for the feedback, guys.

It's kinda funny, as I played the initial RE back in the day but never really got into the sequels at all.

Then I managed to pick up RE4 after all the acclaim when it came out on the PS2. It was decent enough but i never really did get super-involved with it.

I think the most appealing aspect of RE5 for me is the online co-op aspect. Everything i remember reading about it when the game first hit the consoles suggested the the AI was pretty crummy, but if you get an actual live player to play with the game's fun factor rises exponentially.

I guess that's why i'm curious as to how active the community for the game on PC is, nowadays. I have to admit I have barely heard a peep about it (I even had to look up to make sure that it HAD been released on PC), but professional reviews that i find seem to lean quite heavily to the positive for the PC entry.

I'm really hooked on co-op play-style games, right now. Love Left 4 Dead and it's sequel.
