Agreed on where your coming from about the past Resident Evil's where the formula that has been used on previous titles has apparently worked.

All im saying is people who have played it would rate 5/5 because they know what Resident Evil is like to be fair right?

But to the newer gamer they are going to see this as a waste because of the controls being too difficult in there mind.

I mean even if they added like a first person aiming feature which would make the game a bit more interesting because the angle is a bit difficult to judge and the laser sight is pretty much useless especially in that angle of aiming.

Movement is an odd one again hardcore resi fans will see it as nothing different but while others like myself who would find it abit irritating

All im saying is Capcom could of made it abit more "playable" as such but judging by it i think it solely released for the Resi fans and not first timers itself

Aiming is pretty much a pile of BS PERIOD i mean the laser sight is pointless i mean you can hardly see the thing on the Zombie i mean if you had a first person sighting view of the gun would have been alot better and i probably would have been a bit more impressed.
why do you keep saying "i mean"?

All I gotta say is Chris Redfield is a trained SWAT officer who would have recieved training on how to move and shoot at the same time. So in effect you are a space marine.

You can't move and aim at the same time because it would remove all horror from the game. Actually, most of your complaints are because of the game trying to keep the horror in check. It also means you as a player have to stay involved, unlike Gears of War where you need about a 1/10 amount of brain cells to operate then you do in other games.

the RE series is based off of claustrophobia and how you need to act quickly against a much slower foe.

ALTHOUGH: they could try to make the movements a little more fluid and the laser should be easier to pick up on your target (double the size that it appears on the target) other than those two complaints I thought the demo was good. Personally I cant wait for RE5 to come out so i can be called a racist and a bigot for killing zombies that happen to have a different skin color. (I love to see the liberals cry about it)

To answer the guys post above me ^ If you add fluid movements it does not take away from anything, fluid movements are good to have in EVERY game, frustration SHOULD NEVER BE A GAME PLAY MECHANIC
never said frustration, but making it more fluid? It does. I say that in respects into making the game more challenging. RE is good enough where you can turn anywhere, run easily, and be well equipped enough to fight a lot of zombies. But imagine if RE5 just had a crosshair, had your gun ready all the time, and didnt require you to hold onto the run button to walk at a good speed. It would be way too easy, and become like so many other TPS's. To keep it challenging and slow paced, RE stays as what its known for.
notice all that I said was to make the movements more fluid and make the laser larger on the target. Did you even read my post? challenge does not equal frustration
I read the part that you adressed to me, the only part i have to give a shit about.

I've read some people talk about resources and how there aren't that many but i have to disagree. I had ammo coming out my ass. Thats mostly because i used the machete until the annoying bosses showed up. My only problems with it are:
1) How weak the machete is.(i mean seriously, i know its a game but that thing should do a lot more damage.
2)They placed too many enemies in the game while restricting movement.
3) Its too much like RE4.
4) I still see people with crossbows.
I mean seriously, crossbows? I know Africa isn't exactly the richest country but, damn. Come on capcom, if you're going to turn the RE series into another mindless shooter then at least do it right.
5) Its not scary at all now. The series stopped being scary at about the time 4 came out.
I know im judging the game a bit to early but, if they kept the same formula from 4 then it won't be scary at all.
I am a huge fan of the "real" RE series. Not these bullshit attempts to make an action game.

You said to me:
1. Fluid movements dont take away, and should be in every game
2. Frustration should never be a game mechanic

I said to you:
1. Fluid movements can take away from an experience.
2. I agree that frustration should never be a game mechanic.

Its either you're illiterate and/or blind, or you just have your head too far up your own ass.

Well, it is a demo, and it is a survival (not really horror but kind of tense) horror game, which is a slower genre...Hopefully capcom will change it to allow shooting and moving though, as that is a big issue.
Why are people convinced that you can shoot while moving? I realise that RE4/RE5 is hardly survival horror anymore, but it still wants to be kind of scary by making your character feel a little more human and humans don't shoot while running. If you don't have proper shock impact posture, firing from some of those guns will have knockback enough to snap your arm in two.

Was wondering when someone was gonna bring this up.

To the OP, yeah RE5 is a bit clunky if you're coming off mainly FPS', but its really just a matter of adjusting. Capcom doesn't make excuses for its game mechanics, and judging from how well RE4 did, there really is no reason for them too. I know that it's hard to pick up but, as many people have mentioned, it really creates the tension that makes the game so exciting.

Since I doubt the mechanics are going to change you can,

1. Get used to the controls and enjoy the game
2. Not play the game

Trust me when I say the controls aren't going to change anytime soon, and personally I think it's for the best.

Beause it is physically posible to do so, at least with pistols.

Since the PS ive been a huge RE fan, played um all beat um all. And from what it sounds and looks like yea seems we have a re4 clone on our way. Who cares, RE4 was fantastic different or not. yea it's a lil clunky but it's RE it's supposed to be. always has been. Especailly with the overly popular "realistic looking" gorefest of Gears of War this game is going to kill in sales. No pun intended. Capcom has a huge hit on their hands. once again. But for a format of a somewhat improved re4. sure ill bite one more time. (ugh.. sry did it again)RE6 however i'll be expecting something a bit different gameplay wise.

Ppl have to realize this IS NOT A FPS!!! it's RE dammit. It will stand alone just as it has in the past. Do ur homework b4 u assume or compare every game with a gun to CoD. As for clever violence and gore yes RE4 did it better then gears. There i said it. When that crazy ***** came at you with a chainsaw u knew your next few shots rly rly counted. Or the hunters back in the day were about to pounce..u better not miss. Moments like this that make pacing in the game so improtant to the atomosphere it's trying to create. RE goes from slow claustrophobic and clunky, to holy shit it's go time for a reason. I expect nothing less from 5.

EDIT* finally got to play the demo on ps3 today. THis games gonna be awesome ^.^
