I think the fact that they're (hopefully) releasing a versus mode here in the UK means it will extend the longevity of the game. Otherwise it's too much hassle to play through again without a Co-op partner.
I like and don't like RE5's inventory system. I don't like how armour or your handgun takes up a space in your inventory - as Yahtzee said, how are you storing your armour in your armour - and second, both characters have holsters on their pants. I mean, c'mon. We all know a gun goes there.I III II X4 said:Did you ever play RE4? The attache case system was very well done, and you were still limited on space, so you could only have so many items, regardless of whether they were weapons, ammunition, or herbs and eggs.ZantetsukenQ said:Don't take everything Zp says seriously. Personally, I loved the game. It was hella fun to play on co-op. The inventory didnt bother me at all. Makes the game a bit more challenging and means you need to think about what items you take. Its a part of the game, so why not just accept that it is the way it is. Would it really be fun to carry around 82458324 healing items?
Hmm, I forgot about the whole Co-op aspect of RE5....it's just it seems that the AI isn't very good, or at least that's what seems to be the reoccurring theme on the boards.DasMark said:I do like how you need to specialize your character. No longer can you take a pistol, shotgun, SMG, sniper rifle and (if you were good at inventory management in RE4) a magnum (and let's not even talk about the truly obscene amounts of ammunition, healing items and grenades you could stuff in that briefcase) to every battle - Chris needs to have the shotgun and pistol, Sheva needs an SMG and a rifle, or whatever.
Also, the healing items - it really, really encourages smart team play. If Player One has herbs, he had damn well better know to stay fairly close to Player 2 just in case.
In case you haven't fired a gun: You can't hit SHIT while running and shooting.DeathSnake said:Ok first of all, watch zero puncuations video review on the game, that'll tell you a few of the major game flaws, and yes it is a rip off of RE: 4Dorchucks said:ive herd from a couple of people that Rezi Evil 5 is just the sex and then other say its a crap rip off of No.4 wondering if any of you guys have got and would consider sharing your views on the game as to wethere i should get it for PS3 or wether its just crap dont bother wasting moneys on it.
The plus side is yes the graphics are amazing, i have an xbox elite on full HD and yes they look great, i suppose they will look about the same on the PS3.
The thing that really made me hate the game, was the gameplay. I wasnt a huge fan of RE: 4 so i didnt get used to it or anything, but its just the "stop and shoot" aspect of the game fustrates me sooo much. I feel theyve spent so much effort on the graphics making it look real at least have a realistic game play style
But if that your kind of thing and you like RE: 4 and want a grapically better game i do suggest getting it
Wow, 'the full $60'.. we Europeans get to pay 60 euro for new games, which is equal to more than 81$. So consider yourself lucky. As for RE5, I got it somewhat cheaper than full price, I found a store which sold it on release day for 49 euro. That's still more than 66$, but for us here that's a good deal for a popular game on release day.Worr Monger said:I would have sort of regretted it if I had payed the full $60.... good god is that a lot of cash for a single game...Antiparticle said:RE5 is... ok. I'm in Act 4 now and already getting a bit bored with it though. As a matter of fact, I would have regretted buying the game if it hadn't been for the coop mode, which is quite fun indeed.
Luckily I had my Coop partner split it with me.
I don't think I could ever bring myself to pay a full $60 for any game.... ever since I destroyed my soul for buying The Force Unleashed when it was first released.... OK game.... NOT worth $60
Thankfully.. PC games are still cheaper than console games.
I played through it on Normal in solo and had very few problems with the AI. In fact the most of my complaints would be in the worship area with the lasers. For some reason she would never get into cover. I found with the Uroboros boss she would take care of the little things while I focused on the big one. I didn't even realize they were there til towards the end of the fight when I had hit it twice. Sure there was more than a couple times when I was yelling at her to shoot someone else than the one she was targeting but nothing gamebreaking. I just had her in cover and loaded with herbs and sprays so I didn't have to worry about the crap inventory system and healing. Heck I didn't give her more than the pistol for the most part of the game.CowboyIkari said:The Uroboros boss on the ship? Ridiculously hard with AI controlled Sheva. Not really worth it in my opinion, unless you're a Gamerscore whore.Worr Monger said:I can't imagine fighting the final bosses with the AI... It has to be the worst feeling evAr....![]()
Haha as long as she had fun... if she was inexperienced you should give her a machine gun indeed, as the ammo for these is scattered around copiously in later levels. I hate using them. pWorr Monger said:Funny you mention that... After beating it on Coop, I told myself I'd never play it on Veteran because that would feel more like work than fun gameplay with the AI Sheva.miracleofsound said:Single player isn't too bad on normal, but Sheva is flat out retarded on the higher difficulties.
She is very handy for saving your ass if you just load her up with health sprays though, and and only upgrade her damn handgun...
The game is literally twice as much fun in co-op with a friend, especially if it's a friend with a similar skill level to you... beating each other's accuracy by a tenth of a percent at the end of each level is always a good compeditive buzz but the nature of the co-op means you HAVE to share items and help each other often.
I was lucky enough to play with my inexperienced girlfriend on Coop... which I'm sure is more worth a damn than the AI.
Although I felt kind of bad because I treated her the same way Yahtzee treated his AI. I had her carry the machine guns (which she preferred)... and all the herbs. While I carried the shotgun, magnum, rifle, grenades... and all the man stuff.
Ok first of all, yes i have fired a rifle while moving, and yes i hit the target, you just have to be good enough.Eykal said:In case you haven't fired a gun: You can't hit SHIT while running and shooting.DeathSnake said:Ok first of all, watch zero puncuations video review on the game, that'll tell you a few of the major game flaws, and yes it is a rip off of RE: 4Dorchucks said:ive herd from a couple of people that Rezi Evil 5 is just the sex and then other say its a crap rip off of No.4 wondering if any of you guys have got and would consider sharing your views on the game as to wethere i should get it for PS3 or wether its just crap dont bother wasting moneys on it.

Plus it'd make the game too easy, everything would cease to be threatening the moment you could run circles around enemies AND shoot.
I don't see how it's a rip-off really. RE4 was amazing and...it is the same company.
So very true. Still haven't completed it with my brother on professional. We just got fed up and quit. We'll crack it eventually.squid5580 said:Now proffesional is a different story. I cannot see how anyone could beat the 5-3 boss (names withheld due to spoilers) in solo on proffesional. That was the only time I had any major problems with the AI (although in co op we were still rackin in over 100 deaths lol).
yeah ive watched it, ive watched all of them and thers about 3 games he actually likes so its actually not that helpfull.DeathSnake said:Ok first of all, watch zero puncuations video review on the game, that'll tell you a few of the major game flaws, and yes it is a rip off of RE: 4Dorchucks said:ive herd from a couple of people that Rezi Evil 5 is just the sex and then other say its a crap rip off of No.4 wondering if any of you guys have got and would consider sharing your views on the game as to wethere i should get it for PS3 or wether its just crap dont bother wasting moneys on it.

No dont watch it from the point of view you should get it or not, watch it because he tells of one of the biggest flaws in the game which is the a.i. and the inventory boxes. Liking a game is largly based on your own opinions, so you work out the facts of the game and make your own as sumptions on getting it or notDorchucks said:yeah ive watched it, ive watched all of them and thers about 3 games he actually likes so its actually not that helpfull.DeathSnake said:Ok first of all, watch zero puncuations video review on the game, that'll tell you a few of the major game flaws, and yes it is a rip off of RE: 4Dorchucks said:ive herd from a couple of people that Rezi Evil 5 is just the sex and then other say its a crap rip off of No.4 wondering if any of you guys have got and would consider sharing your views on the game as to wethere i should get it for PS3 or wether its just crap dont bother wasting moneys on it.

It's certainly not scary in the same way as the original Resident Evil was (or the REmake), but for my money it has its moments of sheer terror as much as RE4 ever did. When I'm faced with two Reapers who - at the time - are nigh-on indestructible, and then the game throws two gatling gun majini at me as well, I am not what you'd call calm.Marv21 said:2. WASN'T SCARY!!!!!!!!
It's been a while since I played it, but the chainsaw guys in RE4 took a similar amount of damage from what I remember.Marv21 said:12. Lost sense of reality that RE4 did
ex: I do no think a guy with a bag over his head and a chain saw can take 10 rounds of shotgun to the head.
