Not sure how long this has been around, but I thought it looked pretty interesting enough to share. Apologies if it's old hat by now;

It's various short gameplay snippets, just enough to hint at certain functions, enemies, weapons etc to expect. Any surprise thoughts, positive, negative? I quite like the health on the watch and the magical healing fluid. Also the couple of nods to classic gameplay mechanics are a nice touch, with detailed audio/visuals and no flashy music. It certainly isn't trying to be Outlast at least.

It's showing a lot more promise on the gameplay side of things. I'll be interested in how they'll re-incorperate the item box in this new Resident Evil. I'm atleast throwing glances toward this title again, so that's something.

I'm still missing a lot if not all of the character this series used to have though.

Looks good. Still wonder how in the hell it's "Resident Evil", but looks good.
A mansion or residence that houses evil in the middle of a nowhere forest? Check.
A limited inventory space and item boxes? Check
A Regenerator type BOW? Check.
Near nigh unkillable monsters that chase you down? Check
People infected with a virus/parasite that's like a combination of the G-Virus and Plagas? Check.
Saving your data on outdated or obsolete technology? Check.
Puzzles? Check.
Classic pump-action shot gun? Mega check.
Tense atmosphere? Big check.

The only thing new is the Texas Chainsaw family and an RE game where you get to kill a bunch of psychotic rednecks. The only difference being that they're infected with something. The FPS part is not exactly new as RE1 was originally going to be a horror FPS, but the tech wasn't there, and spin-offs were in first person. The only thing missing is any of the original cast; that is the point though, you're just an average person in a deadly scenario. Oh, and there is no save room theme either, but that my be added later in development.

P.S - In the clip with the telephone and the woman on the other line answering, "You shouldn't have come here."; sounds a lot like Sheva. It definitely sounds like her voice actress. Either Sheva is making an odd return, or the actress is just playing a different character. I can't wait to find out the results.

None of the campy dumb tone, humor or atmosphere though.

To be fair, RE: Remake & 0 both only had some (intentional) humor and that worked out well. RE 6 on the other hand was too serious, and ended up looking more all the silly in most circumstances. Dumb in a "Oh my, God this full of shit" bad. They were trying way too hard with the story there; which made it all the more convoluted.

RE 7 does have some humor, but it's more black humor than anything else. The dinner scene with the family or Jack Baker saying "OOoohh, no!no!no!noo! Now ya gunna get it!", as if he's about to whip you with a belt or switch. That one was meant't to funny and scary at the same time. There might be going for the tone of Remake or 0, just less humor, yet darker and are stepping it back on the spectacle after the disastrous stunt of trying please everybody in 6.

No third-person view. Thus, IDGAF. I do like some first-person games, but dropping third-person from a series that has always had it as if the alternative is superior rubs me the wrong way. I won't play this out of principle. Should have been a new IP.
I understand what you mean, and have no problems with that. My theory, as I pointed out in the little trivia posted, is that this is call back to what the first game was originally going to be like. Plus, you gotta capitalize on dat VR! Besides RE: Dead Aim (albeit you moved in 3rd person), the other Gun Survivor games, and Chronicles were in 1st person and a majority had no complaints back. then. Yeah, the Chronicle games were just abridged versions of RE 1-3 or filled in gaps before 4, and the rest were side stories most people don't give a rat's ass about. It's them something different to capitalize on the Outlast, Alein Isolation, PT, or Condemned crowd, and so far, it looks like it's working. I definitely would have preferred 3rd person, but that's Capcom for ya.

Oh, and the part where it should have been it's own IP, is more or less how I feel about DmC (2013). Which is all the more ironic, because Devil May Cry started out as RE 4, but it became it's own IP for being too actiony. The Capcom of back then would have done that, but now instead of making a new IP, it's if the game does not have the words Evil, Street, or sometimes Rising in the title, then our product won't sell well. Even back then Capcom had problems with making a whole bunch of sequels.

So, basically it's the gameplay of Resident Evil ReMake in first person?

...heh, awesome.

Looks really good. Looks like they combined Outlast and Condemned really well. I already really liked the general mood of the demo but if the final game has a Condemned style of gameplay than I'm a happy camper. :p

first person is far more immersive than third person and beside it looks better than any other game in series

It's looking promising. I'm certainly more open to it as the last big shift for the series (4) turned out to be my favourite. I hope it doesn't take itself too seriously though and there is an element of more black comedy/camp. It's more fun that way.

Am I the only person who thinks this looks slow as shit?
I know RE is known (or used to be before it turned into a shooter) as a slow edge of your seat game but everything in that clip just takes foreveeeeeeeer.
