Well here it is, the trailer for the next Resident Evil film. Is it me or do they seem to take random elements of the games and try to wright a plot around them.

What do you think?

Is it wrong of how much i laughed at all the epic token 3D parts? Cause there was soooo many.

Yeah, i just know im going to get dragged to see this, if it doesnt get an R18+ rating im going to have to see it, and listen to my friend not shut up about it for weeks on end.

I'll watch it, I'll enjoy it. These movies have always been good for a few hours of mindless viewing. Besides, I'm getting kind of interested in what they're going to do next, seeing as how they reduced the world to nothing but zombies and a ragtag collection of token minorities.

It looks so stupid!

Have they completely forgotten that this film franchise started of trying to be scary? Why has it suddenly become full-blown action?

Oh well, hopefully it will entertain me a little.

The first and the second movie, those at least seemed to have some purpose. Show a bunch of people trying to get the hell out. Third one looked like a stretch, but I suppose that's how it goes. But this... this just doesn't make any sense at all anymore.
They're gone from zombie survival to some form of vendetta action movie, the plot will probably be non-existent, though hasn't that always been the case, and I doubt the action will be particularly better.

hehe it looks like a mix of the matrix and underworld, so much for resident evil...

Although i have to admit i did like the resident evil movies, you just have to get a little suspension of disbelief and take it for what it is, a zombie shooter movie, no more no less. This isn't a masterpiece and they know it, but it's good for this type of movie :)

They've done that for all the movies.

I especially like how in the second movie they took the canon storyline about the Nemesis and the S.T.A.R.S teams, loaded that storyline canon into an actual canon, fired it straight into the sun, and then got someone who clearly has never played any of the games before to write a script for the movie based of some notes on a cocktail napkin*

*DISCLAIMER - [small]This may or may not have actually happened, but I was really disgusted at how the second movie ignored the established back story in exchange fore karate motorbike fights in a graveyard. I also like to pretend that the third movie didn't actually happen, as I dislike the concept of psychic zombies even more than I dislike the concept of the aforementioned karate motorbike fight. I'm sure that the fourth movie will continue to rape the back story in such a way that people who have no idea what made the video games so much fun will cheer and high five each other in a very stereotypical bro movie type way. Wow this is a lot of text, it must not be easy to read a big wall of text like this, especially since I also shrunk the text size. On the other hand, I've also run out of things to type in this big wall of text, so I should probably stop soon. I realise this gag has been done in several different places before, I never promised original content. If it was such a bother to you you didn't have to read this far in. Wow this wall of text continues to grow. I don't think I'm ever going to repeat this joke, it's such a huge amount of effort, and it's probably made a few of you hate me by now.[/small]

Have you read George Remero's version of the first film http://www.dailyscript.com/scripts/resident_evil_romero.html

It's just a draft but it was close to the original plot

Well seeing as the games abandoned the horror aspect, the movies may as well follow suit...

Ugh. Why with the action and the flipping and the martial arts and the tight leather and the samurai swords(?)? This is Resident Evil, not Ninja fucking Gaiden!

This.

It's probably going to be utter stupidity, but I'll enjoy it. It's one of my guilty pleasures. >.>

I love the Resident Evil movies - I admit it, I am really shallow sometimes and really like hot women with guns kicking arse. WIll have to wait for the DVD though as (a) going to the cinema is something I can no longer do because I want to lash out at the revolting chattering/phone using/picnic scarfing cunts and (b) 3D can go and suck a dick. I'll watch the 2d in my living room on my big telly with no selfish dickfaced fuckwits spoiling my experience.

(Hate most people? Yeah, probably).

Ugh... Was hoping for something good. It looks OKAY. But it looks even more like a fan boy made movie than anything. I respect how they want to keep to stuff in the games, but seriously, 90% of the stuff is from the games, it's ridiculous.

Looks like a fun ride, which is all I care about these days. The past decade has been really bad for films.

Much like the actual game series it is based off of?
OH SNAP!
Yeah, when I read hub post, I thought the exact same thing. Its hard for the film not to do it if the games did it too.
