about resident evil... in my opinion so much of it seems so contrived but my main gripe is this: stone wall shooting. ok for some resi games its acceptable such as the ones where you play as you know a common moron, and not, well lets say a police officer, or govt. agent who was sent in alone or with a single partner with about 9 bullets, and without the training to move and shoot(yes it is possible, i have taken the appropriate classes to learn such a skill for those not 'into' firearms) seriously were supposed to believe that the single agent we sent in to rescue the presidents daughter (obviously narrowing in on 4) hasnt been trained to be even slightly mobile while taking aim? no its just utter bullshit to keep the story CONSISTANT...in a horror game, a genre which should be about out of the ordinary things, especially with a presumably mutating virus and dynamic characters...i mean the fact that characters are(should be) dynamic should be enough of an excuse to give us the ability to move AND shoot at the same time. but instead they just throw it out (along with extra ammo for the agent on the top secret mission to kill undead shit again) for the sake of poorly executed horror. i honestly think resi needs to die as a franchise, not even because of the above but because its marketing a story that has become pretty predictable (OMG umbrellas behind it?!?! i thought wesker was dead yadda yadda yadda etc etc etc....) as a horror story, after all isnt one of the main elements of horror supposed to be suspense, and not knowing the evil force thats out to get you, hell the plot twist in portal scared me more than resi.

Please use paragraphing, capitalisation, punctuation, better spacing and shorter sentences. Blocks of text will just result in people ingoring what you have to say.

OT: You've had an opinion about a game, good job. Where is the discussion value?

Well, that's your opinion so...
Well, I can say that I did like Resident Evil 0 and Remake on the Gamecube. Damn good graphics and good mood. Never cared for the story, but oh well. Plus, 4's no run-and-gun gameplay was mostly due to trying to keep some feeling of nostalgia I guess. Not that that's an excuse of course. Plus, not every horror game has to be about the story, as Silent Hill 1 didn't have an amazing story. The winning ticket there was the atmosphere, as well as the nature of the enemies themselves.

true but resi 4 was a game with a story already given to it was my point...i'm not saying that a horror game has to have an amazing story all i'm saying is that resi has an okstory and unfortunatly that story and its status as being well known take away from the horror. plus it has too many inconsistancys with the gameplay.

as for nostalgia i hated transfomers for relying on nostalgia (and just being a bad movie) so nostalgia is no excuse.

the discussion value is in debate.

A lot of stuff in resident evil 4 doesn't make sense like the fact that zombies carry gun ammo but don't use guns until the last part of the game. I think you are looking at it too hard just sit back and enjoy the game because stressing over minor details will kill the fun of any game.

The protagonist in RE4 is such a badass, he has all the time in the world to calmly stand and aim as precisely as possible.

It's one of my favorite games!

I also enjoyed RE0 and the GC remake lots. And I enjoyed RE5 lots.

With RE4 the story and dialogue became very very silly and the horror aspect was basically gone completely, but the sheer awesomeness of the rest of it was more than enough. The gameplay sold me and the graphics were excellent.
