about resident evil... in my opinion so much of it seems so contrived but my main gripe is this: stone wall shooting. ok for some resi games its acceptable such as the ones where you play as you know a common moron, and not, well lets say a police officer, or govt. agent who was sent in alone or with a single partner with about 9 bullets, and without the training to move and shoot(yes it is possible, i have taken the appropriate classes to learn such a skill for those not 'into' firearms) seriously were supposed to believe that the single agent we sent in to rescue the presidents daughter (obviously narrowing in on 4) hasnt been trained to be even slightly mobile while taking aim? no its just utter bullshit to keep the story CONSISTANT...in a horror game, a genre which should be about out of the ordinary things, especially with a presumably mutating virus and dynamic characters...i mean the fact that characters are(should be) dynamic should be enough of an excuse to give us the ability to move AND shoot at the same time. but instead they just throw it out (along with extra ammo for the agent on the top secret mission to kill undead shit again) for the sake of poorly executed horror. i honestly think resi needs to die as a franchise, not even because of the above but because its marketing a story that has become pretty predictable (OMG umbrellas behind it?!?! i thought wesker was dead yadda yadda yadda etc etc etc....) as a horror story, after all isnt one of the main elements of horror supposed to be suspense, and not knowing the evil force thats out to get you, hell the plot twist in portal scared me more than resi.
