Basically, I have a PS3 and I want to play an online multi-player shooter game. I've had a few of my friends suggesting these 2, but I only really want to buy and spend time on one.

So I have started this thread to ask you guys which one you would recommend from a multiplayer angle.

Feel free to post your advice, but please don't start arguing over others opinions.

Killzone 2 is great fun.

The multible objectives during a match keeps everyone on their toes.

Wait for Modern Warfare 2. Both Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 are pretty dull. And I'm confident Infinity Ward won't disappoint.

Edit: If you're tied to those to though, then I'd have to say Resistance 2. The single-player in that game was completely mind-blowing and the multi-player is more fun than Killzone 2's...

Killzone 2 is better on all measurable fronts.

But to be honest they're both completely devoid of personality. KZ2 has better online play and the single player is actually fun. Insomniac forgot that little detail in Resistance.

I was quite disappointed in Resistance 2 compared with the first one, and I was curious on Killzone 2, but not being a fan of FPS in the first place means I'll probably hold out until it's cheaper.

Well,I wouldn't get either. Resistence 2 is just plain terrible and Killzone 2, while being pretty decent, has been around long enough for everyone else online to unlock the ability to play as invisible snipers.
anyone can play as an invisible sniper, but they're visible when they move and there's a time limit on their invisibility. part of the scouts 'badge ability'

I remembered that I forgot to actually say anything about the games... '-_-

The reason that I like Resistance 2's multi-player more is because you can play split-screen co-op. Because they're both pretty dull to play on-line. Resistance 2 is too chaotic and Killzone 2's community seems to be split up into two parts, the uber-pro and the completely worthless... And that's not very fun.

Resistence 2 is not terrible, I fucking loved that game.

Hmmm, I gotta get around to playing my rental of killzone2, I'll post something else here when I'm done

So what is better about Modern Warfare 2's online play? Does it have classes e.t.c.

I've never played the CoD games so I never really considered them

Thats a verry tough decision. It all comes down to what other games you like. If you like more artistic games, try resistance 2. Killzone 2 is grity and manly and verry verry awesome. Dont listen to whoever said evereybody is invisible snipers because I see alot of class diversity, unlike in say, tf2 where its not unusual to see the entire other side are all enginers or pyros.

It has something even better than classes. It has perks, that is abilities, so that you can customize your own classes. It also has the feature of weapon-attachments, so that you can add silencers or scopes and such. It has a lot of challenges that you can complete for experience and also a lot of experience-levels for you too unlock, with them comes new weapons and perks. The level-designers at Infinity Ward are incredible, so the levels are incredible. And there will also be a lot more people playing that game so it will be easier to find games.

I hope that clears things up :)
