Retail Left 4 Dead 2 disk 2?

I just bought Left 4 Dead 2 retail and when I opened it up I saw that it had a Disk 1 and Disk 2. But during installation I only needed disk 1. What is Disk 2 for? I put it in but it only had 5 files in it. Anyone know what it is for?

I'm not sure, but my guess is that it's the parts of the game that didn't fit on disc one, but were unnecessary for installation because it uses Steamworks, and the actual data came from the internet. Are you positive that you installed it from the disc?

(Edit: I'm not patronizing you; Steamworks games are notorious for installing from the internet even when the disc is in the drive.)

It came in the case that said included The passing and The Sacrifice but there already installed with out the Disk 2. And there is no way in hell I downloaded them during install. My internet speed it about 150 kb/s for downloads and the install was about 20 mins.

It was from disk. It was installing about 10 mb/s. MUCH faster then my internet.

If the game is working fine, don't jinx it. Maybe that disc was meant to be packaged with the original discs, but the newer ones have all that on there already.

Disk 2 had about 2GB

My internet is 150KB/s
No way that would have downloaded in 20 mins

Almost certainly this. I haven't bought any recent Source games from retail, because I prefer to pre-load through Steam, but it's entirely possible that it includes this stuff. Again, I'm not sure, but that sounds right to me.
