The kids at Anonymous are having a fieldday with their Operationpayback [https://twitter.com/#!/search/%23OperationPayback]. The website of the Dutch digital pirate hunting organisation, called Brein, has been demolished by Anonymous, after Brein [http://www.anti-piracy.nl] succesfully sued two providers, XS4All and Ziggo, forcing them to block the Pirate Bay IP, making sure that none of their customer can access Pirate Bay.

Something about proxies, VPN and Usenet, but blocking is pointless anyway, as there are more ways to reach a torrent website. But, one thing that Brein has made clear, is that a free and open internet is not available for everyone.

But Brein.nl [http://www.brein.nl] has NOTHING to do with the crusade of the Brein anti-piracy organisation. Three guesses who gets flooded with hatemail, miles-long faxes and a phone that rings all day? Bingo, an innocent, local, IT company. Simply because those Anonymous idiots sent their hacker army towards the wrong company [https://twitter.com/#!/Anonymousjock/status/157294183399436289]!

Blocking a corrupt anti-piracy website is fun, laughing at the court's verdict because there are millions of ways to get around the IP-ban, is fun as well. Publishing private information to harass, pester and threaten, while you are targetting the WRONG Brein company, is just fully fledged retarded.
Just do like the Pirate Bay, and explain how to avoid [http://thepiratebay.org/] the IP-ban.

just sayin'
Although I can enjoy any attack against Brein or other incompetent anti-piracy organisations, I don't like it when it's this giant anonymous mob, that has no real target, no real direction and no structure.

It's like a mob of Tazmanian Devils. More dangerous than useful.

I'm sure they are sorry an apologize for the inconvenience. Target research is something one shouldn't half-ass about, indeed...

They aren't the only ones to get the wrong website. The Department for Homeland Security has a watchlist of websites:

Name related misunderstanding:

Anonymous needs to be more careful though.
