I just saw the new Silent Hill: Downpour trailer...

The first 3 games were terrific and even the 4th game had a little something, but now it's just getting embarrassing.

But they only just started making cool changes to the series! It's been in dire need of some innovation ever since Gold and Silver, kind of annoying that it took them this long but it's better than never.
What major changes are in 5th gen?

3 vs 3 battles? Yeah, not interested in that. If there are other big ones, please let me know, as I haven't really kept up with 5th gen.

4th had a bunch of good changes though. I'm happy it got made. It's just 5th that I'm not too excited about.
well the second version of triple battle are good were one pokemon is in the front and two are in the back from what I understand the one in the front takes more damage but deals more damage and the ones in the back take less damage and do less damage. there is also a drream world don't know what that does and a lot more variet typs in pokemon my favourite being elcetric bug:

smallest and most adorable pokemon ever.

Team Fortress... wait, that's just obvious.
Erm, the Elder Scrolls? That'd suck, I really wanna see if Skyrim becomes redemption.

I am at the point where I want to see them all retire. Lets start with a clean slate.

There better not be another Resident Evil game! Wesker got decapitated with rockets and blown up in a pool - nay, a frickin' OCEAN - of lava in the last game. If that doesn't spell "the end," nothing does!

There also aren't any unanswered questions or dangling plot threads like in RE4 (Ada and the Plagas sample). Where will the story go?

Bioshock. The second one was just so bad. I know, different developers made it, but c'mon. I think the original developers are making a sequel not based in Rapture. That is kinda cool, since we have already seen Rapture and the first one told us all we needed to know about it. I just don't see why the game has to be called bioshock for other than money making purposes.

But there haven't been any Oddworld games in years...

Really, most franchises I like that are still going are doing fine, with the possible exception of Fallout, since I really haven't liked New Vegas. Well, we'll see how Deadly Descents goes before I rule on SSX.

Tom Clancy games. Rainbow Six stopped being good after Raven Shield. Ghost Recon...well, look how GRIN turned out. Splinter Cell will soon be on its last legs if it isn't already. Just stop, Ubisoft.

I would also have to agree with Metal Gear. Great series, great ending, you don't need anything more.

Please let Kingdom Hearts die. Please. I'm begging you.

Edit: Woo-hooo! 1111 posts! Hick-a-doo-lah! Hick-a-doo-lah!
Meh, I'd settle for just not having any more prequels, spin offs or tie ins. It's getting as ridiculous as Final Fantasy VII and that's saying something.

Final Fantasy needs to go. It's been in it's death throes for nearly ten years now and it needs to stop.

I'd also kill Metal Gear. It seems clear the guy just wants to make a movie, so let him do it and be done with it. Same with Resident Evil (but they're already making movies).

Call of Duty. I actually really enjoy these games, and I thought that Black Ops was great, but with the way Activision is looking to "exploit it" (in Bobby Kotick's words) even more as the years pass, I think it should end on a relatively high note.

Let it be remembered for being a great franchise that changed a lot about how FPS' are made and played today, while also giving new franchises and developers a chance to experiment, grow, and flourish.

Of course, this is extremely wishful thinking, especially knowing Activision...

I don't see how its ruining the continuity. It's just showing what Raiden was up to between becoming a cyborg and MGS4.
MGS4 (and the database) state that Raiden's head and spine were still human. The first images and trailer of Rising shows cyborg eyes, nails in his forehead and all sorts. Like the energy source thing that he needs to keep getting battery cores to keep his suit running, when MGS4 dedicates about half an hour of Mission Briefings to explaining how it works on artificial blood.
Small details in the otherwise ridiculous story of Metal Gear, yes, but it's the small details that pull me out. Especially when it's so easy to double check and it got past the entire team.
If they wanted to change up the design a little, all they had to do was set it post-MGS4 where there's the potential for a new story without any of these things to worry about.
