I only do retro baby, mainly because my PS3 and my gaming PC died in a fire, but I ONLY do retro,oh yeah, I have beaten Castlevania, Contra and Super C, though those are the only NES games I have ever passed, as far as PC I've been known to play some Ultima every now and then, some Privateer and some Crusader, also Eye of the Beholder I love that, Secret of Monkey Island was great and Sam and Max is OK but I never figured out what to do in that restaurant on top of a tower, and many other games, my latest gaming acquisitions were F-Zero X and Star Fox 64, and the game I've been playing the most lately is Freespace 1 (1999), so there you have it all retro no new, though I do have a Gamecube which is a fairly new console I rarely use it for stuff that ain't Smash Melee or Eternal Darkness.
I love older games. Mostly because I'm much more fond of 2D graphics and plattformers and stuff. Ofcourse there are great games nowadays, Rayman Origins being a great example of a recent game that's fantastic, but mostly it's just boring first person shooters and crap. They all give me motion sickness, so I don't really enjoy the majority of new games.
My favorite console is by far the Sega Mega Drive. I whole bunch of my all time favorites are from that console, like Ristar, Ecco: The Tides of Time and Rocket Knight Adventures. I'm sort of collecting on Mega Drive games, and I currently own 55 games for it. Plus six games for Mega CD.
Needless to say, I have more fun with those than whatever crap they bring out nowadays.

I just played Metroid the other day, and I quickly wished it had Contra style shooting.
I've always been a Sega man myself. Genesis is still doing what Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendon't. Why doesn't anyone else use the awesome blast processing?

The retroest I can get is about 22 years ago with the sega Megadrive(Genesis to you people in lesser countries). I played thhe CRAP out of Sonic 2. I had a lot of fun with streets of rage, lemmings, altered beast, alex kidd, NBA jam and a bunch of other stuff. Good times. I still dust it off every now and again for a nostalgia hit.
The original Sid Meier's Pirates on the Amiga was great, I even enjoyed the modern remake as well, much to my surprise.
I also loved one of the first Dungeon Crawl RPGs called, Dungeon Master.

My first console was the Atari 2600. It actually belonged to my parents and I played it lots. Then, my first console present was the Nintendo Entertainment System.
I also remember struggling to get a computer and computer games as a child, but without much luck. I also tended to like computers more because they seemed fancier and more varied(when I was tiny, I wanted to be a hacker or something), but generally liked console games more.
I remember a lot of time struggling and finally getting number muncher to work on my DOS computer. It would occasionally freeze up, but it would play. And later in my life, playing Reader Rabbit.
And there were some rare games I don't know the name of. For instance, there was a game where you would shoot bullets at an opposing fort or something. I remember having a lot of fun when you could finally get to the nuke option.
My most played game on the Atari was Circus. It was amazingly addictive and challenging. I loved it when I would manage to get a Trapeze stuck into the centre and therefor get a lot of points safely.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to have too many Nintendo games and by the time I did, I was excited to get a Super Nintendo.
If you haven't before you should try right now to find a way to play Circus.

Baldur's Gate, yo. And the old SSi Gold Box games like Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Secret of the Silver Blades and Pools of Darkness. I spent AGES playing Secret of the Silver Blades, because of the place in town where you could cache your treasure. By the time I'd stopped playing, I had 3 sets of +5 Plate, +5 Shields and +5 Swords from some of the hardest baddies in the game. Which means I played that game through at least 10 times.
I also played SSi's Dark Queen of Krynn, the one that took players to the other continent of Krynn. And Crystal Quest. Man, that game got incredibly frenetic at higher levels!, and let us not forget the original Tetris, and Dungeons of Daggorath for the TRS-80 (we're talking REAL OLD SCHOOL here!).

I don't know if it's quite old enough for you - although I'm only around twenty, so I can't go much further back.

(I swear to god, we went through at least four of those things - they just really disliked playing games, apparently.) Although my favorite console is either Nintendo-64 or Sega Saturn. There are tons of games for the N64 or SNES that I love, but I consistently go back to my Saturn for some fun times.

Some of ya'll are embarrassments to the concept of "retro". Deus Ex? Baldur's Gate? Good lord, people. These games are barely 10 years old.

I RECOGNIZE #1, but I can't name it.
#2 is Advanced Dungeons and Dragons for the Intellivision, I think.
#3 is clearly Archon.
#4 is Kings Quest. Can't say which one. Gonna go with 1 or 2.

I may be 18 but I grew up on my dad's SNES. My favorite game of all time? Super Mario RPG. I also enjoyed act raiser and U.N. squadron.
