Ahh yes..back too the good old days at Black Mesa for this one.
Half life one has and still will be one of the best games i have ever played, from the excellent story:
Mute scientist pushes a rather odd looking crystal on a cart into a "Fricken Lazer Beam" after an overly long ride into work. Promptly aliens are warped in from their safe haven Xen. So they kill most of the scientists while you run your silly arse away from them to a place called 'Lambada Complex' where they will teleport you to their world because ' ONLY YOU CAN STOP THEM ' but before that can happen, Marines form a nearby base come in to 'clean everything up'. As in Kill every thing that moves that doesn't have camouflage gear on. SO the facility is nuked as you are teleported to their world to 'research the shit out of everything' you eventually kill a giant floating brain baby thing that has masterminded the assault on Earth thus saving the day as you are confronted by the G-man.
From the great range of weapons, To the scripted sequences, for example, crawling through a vent as you hear a marine call out that he heard something and watch in horror as the vent in front of you is riddled with bullets and falls form the roof.
The graphics..are not great as the game was made in the 90's but it is hilarious to see a blob like thing that is meant to be a zombie your meant to be scared of shuffling towards you. Its also good that it can run on anyone's computer..especially my shitty one
The environments, going seamlessly from underground laboratories full of enemies to a canyon/desert area where f-15s and flying manta-rays roam the sky's to floating islands of rocks that is now the 'Xenians' new homeworld.
The AI in this game is also incredibly awesome on harder difficulties. For example in a room containing three marines, one will fire at you to keep you pinned down while another will find cover and throw grenades at you while the other will flank you and shoot you in the back.
I'm also giving it an honorable mention for not having regenerating heath, as in you have to actually fight to survive and scavenge for medkits and heath stations. Also i know that your not really an everyday guy your a P.H.D scientist but your more normal than the superhuman power-armored space marines injecting themselves with steroids.
Ill stop now since your probably tired of reading so much text so..yehhh i recommend playing it at least once.
p.s this is my first review on here so feedback would be good, also if someone could tell me how to add pictures, thanks in advance <3
