Honestly? The amount of friends that I have who play it. I'm fairly good friends with people in my guild (The fact that we have guild meets where we meet up in real life and have fun "Raiding" various pubs and tourist attractions in a variety of cities might indicate how well we know each other)
That's incredibly fascinating. Tell me, did you know most of these people prior to joining the guild or formed bonds while you played? It seems very fortuitous to be able to meet up with your guildmates like that.

Quite interesting indeed, good story.

Utter garbage. I took the 7 free days when the Siege of Orgrimmar patch came out (I bought MoP back in the day, but played lower level characters initially), I brought one of my level 85 characters to Pandaria. I did the first three or so quests.

And I quit. I uninstalled. And I never looked back.

I am now entirely free of that game and I feel so much better for it.

Pro's

- Pandaria is gorgeous. The expansion is probably the second best behind Lich King. It lacks LK's shear epic feel, but has a lot of decent new mechanics that make it mostly easier for casual types to experience everything. (Looking for Raid is a huge help with this.)

- The Monk class is quite fun, if a bit similar to Druids in many ways.

- You get to kill Garosh finally. (And the Horde seems to have a decent story)

Con's

- Monk's are great. Panda's are more of an acquired taste. I like them, but your mileage may vary.

- This is a much more lighthearted expansion than previous. lot's of fun, silliness and humor. Lich King it's not.

- You don't get to kill Jaina, Varian Wrynn, or topping your list of desirable kills this exp pac Prince Anduin Wrynn. I play Alliance. Our story sucks, is completely incomprehensible and our leaders have a disturbing similarity to "Corkie" from the Burning Crusade. Death is to good for them. We want them given to Murloc's as sex slaves.

- If you thought Murloc's were bad, wait till you meet Hozen.

As it turns out, I met them in game.

Joined the guild a couple of years ago (My dad who plays joined them and managed to get me in) and since it's mostly a social guild rather than a hardcore raiding one so it's pretty easy to just chat with others and what not. The actual raiding environment is also one that pretty laid back in the sense that you can have a little chat every now and then and also have the occasional funny remarks to make everyone laugh quite a lot.

Also everyone in the guild is invited to the yearly guild meets which are great ways to get to know people (Though it can be quite disconcerting do see the face behind the person you've heard over vent for while when going the first time) and since the country they're in changes each year, it's quite possible for people who can't go abroad easily can go to them so more new faces will be seen.

The ZA/ZG rehashes were terrible (they also came after release, so I don't really count them), I fully agree with that, though perhaps for different reasons (I just thought they were dumb, boring, and also plain lazy).
I'm just tired of troll content in general - I think Blizzard using them as the go-to villians ('ancient allies of the Mogu'? Really?) is just lazy, and I'm tired of seeing it. ZG and Zul'Farrak, then ZA, then a whole goddamn zone, Zul'Drak and its dungeons, ZA/ZG in Cataclysm, and now Throne of Thunder. I'm so over it.

I ended up reactivating my account just today and I'm having a lot of fun with the new content. I'm hoping to find a casual raiding guild to try and do some legitimate raiding rather than just using LFR.

The Timeless Isle is certainly a great way to regear, however, I've died more in that locale than any other point in the game.

Who knew the slayer of so many incredibly formidable enemies like Arthas and Deathwing would be laid low by the might of birds, yaks, and snakes?

And if you didnt raid or do guild activities, you are not a "veteran player" to me.
By "veteren" player, I meant that I had previously been playing the game for over 5 years, since I was 16. I also had many bad experiences with guilds over that time and as such, don't see the point in conversing with people I don't know, as much as I have to.

I also have plenty of fun enjoying the game without raiding; enjoying the story is what I generally play for, for one.

There is more than one way to play World of Warcraft, you know.

**UPDATE**

I decided to jump back in only this time purchasing pre-paid game cards instead of assigning my credit card to my Battle.net account. It has really helped me pace myself and enjoy the game for what it is rather than speeding through the content hoping to reach the disappointing end-game (personal opinion, don't take that wrong).

I rolled a Pandaren Mage on a new server, and am having a blast.
