Bioshock Infinite:
At the end when it is revealed to Booker that in one reality he is Comstock and the Elizabeth's drown him, instead of their timelines collapsing one by one the true villains reveal themselves; the Luttece twins. They reveal that Booker's death, while effective in ensuring that Comstock never is, was the final variable which needed to be removed in order for them to collapse the multiverse into nothingness; they feel that it is an inevitable conclusion and wish to speed the process along so that they might view it for themselves. The Elizabeths, by creating and opening tears willy nilly, have made this process much easier by connecting all the universes together for them.

The scene shifts to the realm of the lighthouses where the Elizabeths look on in horror as one by one the lighthouses begin to fizzle, turn grey, and crumble into the sea. The light fades and everything goes dark.

Honestly that's not too far off from what I expected as the game wore on.

[HEADING=1]Silver wolf009's revised Equestria Girls Ending![/HEADING]

I change the ending in a pretty big way. First, I slip in hints throughout the entire movie about a group of about four or five people who've really been getting the short end of the stick. Show them being humiliated and looked down on, as is the key character trait of Sunset Shimmer.

Then, at the climax, in the gymnasium, just as Sunset Shimmer gets the crown and goes demonic, the real changes start to happen. Right as Sunset is gloating about winning, the doors to the gym fly open, and someone shouts, "YOU'RE ALL FUCKING DEAD!"

It's the group. They've burst in, dressed in ski masks and camouflage boots, armed with shotguns, AR-15's, and Colt M1911's, just for irony. There's a moment of shocked silence, before they just open fire. The crowd panics, and starts going down. People are falling left and right, missing jaws and having holes blown through them.

The group just blasts 'em all, killing everyone. Twilight gets away because Rainbow Dash's body fell on her when she got hit in the heart. Once that's done, the four of them finish off any of the wounded. Then, when only Twilight's alive, hidden under a body, they line up, and do as their pact described. Except one of them notices Twilight just as he's about to pull the trigger. The other three go off together, but he gets in one last thing to say.

Looking Twilight in the eye, Flash takes off his ski mask, and simply says, "I'm sorry."

One pull of the trigger later, and all the added in little touches for him harboring depression pay off, and he dies.

They don't know it, but they've saved the day with their school shooting by stopping Sunset.

Twilight just spends the time until the police show up crying in the middle of it all. When she hears the sirens, she picks up the crown, and literally dives through the portal, back home. Ignoring anyone nearby, she turns around, and throws the mirror to the ground, breaking it into a hundred pieces.

The movies ends with her crying in a ball, and news footage showing the scene and the faces of the characters as credits.

Also, new quote of the week: "They saved the day with their school shooting."
That made me laugh a little inside... I love it...[footnote]I still liked the movie, though...[/footnote]

OT: How "The Muppets" Could Have Ended

It time for the telethon to begin, as each Muppet gets ready for curtain call. Walter, pacing back and forth, still cannot find out what his talent is. Time is running out as he's getting desperate by the second. Meanwhile, Tex Richman has one final trick up his sleeve. After blocking all of the exits of the theater, with a cartoonish laugh, he pulls out multiple sticks of dynamite. He begins to place them sporadically around the roof of the theater, each one connected to the ignition switch in his suit pocket.

Stepping back as far away from the theater as possible, but still keeping it within sight, Tex presses the ignition button. Walter, about to approach the stage knowing what he's going to do, hears a noise coming from the roof. Other Muppets as well as the audience hear the same noise and begin to look up. In less than 10 seconds flat, the roof begins to cave in around them. The audience begins to scream and run to the exits, but they just won't budge. Kermit, running towards Miss Piggy, gets crushed by a formal-hanging strobe light. Miss Piggy, without noticing, tires to break each incoming falling obstacle, but is soon overpowered by the multitude of falling debris and stage bags.

Tex, after watching the broadcast beacon tower crumble on top of the theater, pulls out his cellphone and calls in for an airstrike.

"Are you sure about this?" said someone on the other line, in a concerning tone.

"Just fucking do it!" snarls Tex before hanging up his cell. He tells his limo driver to drive a bit further down the road.

Within minutes, the sound of a few helicopters few by the in-caved theater, each dropping what seemed like grenades from a distance. Soon, a towering explosion engulfed what remained of the theater and anything else within a mile radius. Dust began to fill up the streets and soon catches up with the limo. Tex tells the limo to stops in its tracks.

Silence fills the air around them as Tex tells his limo driver to open up the skylight and to hand him some binoculars. He pokes his head out in the direction of the theater before he stoods up completely. All Tex could see from that section was a black tower shooting into the night sky... and begins to laugh maniacally. The camera pans out on his evil expression as the credits soon begin to roll onscreen.[footnote]I'm not good at writing dark...[/footnote]

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.

Frodo can't resist the lure of the ring and is driven mad. Gollum is desperate for it too. Frodo manages to get the ring away from Gollum by wearing it but can't stop himself from being consumed by its power. Knowing that Frodo and Gollum can overpower him, Sam thinks the only way he can protect Frodo is to grab the ring off him and jump in to the lava to destroy it. With the ring gone Frodo recovers from the madness but is left with the knowledge of what Sam did to save him.

TL;DL Sam saves Frodo from turning evil by jumping in to the lava with the ring.

Lord Of The Rings (But a little darker than the guy above me)

When Frodo and Gollum go over the cliff edge in Mount Doom, Sam goes to save Frodo only to discover that it's Gollum who hung on while Frodo fell to his death. Using Sam to hoist himself up, Gollum pulls himself back onto safe ground, sending Sam into the lava pit as a result, then laughs and skips away, ring in hand and happy again.

With the ring safe and no-one left to destroy it, Aragorn, Gandalf and the entire army are decimated by Sauron's forces, they all die horribly and Middle Earth is ruled by the Dark Lord once more.

OK. Take the film Snow White and the Huntsman. After defeating Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart realizes that as with her nemesis her beauty will eventually be her downfall. She takes her sword to her own face and slashes through it taking her own eye with it. Later we see how she is fitted with an iron mask that covers half her face. We then see her knighting the the prince and the huntsman to be her loyal protectors and finally we see her sitting on her throne and the beginning of her iron fist rule. It's a better ending than the original crap.

Pinocchio: Originally, he gets hanged on a tree like a criminal, but the author was forced to rewrite it. None of the Donkey boys return to human form, his friend Lampwick dies & Pinocchio beats the cricket to death.
The Disney Pinocchio was already pretty fucking dark and rather mean spirited. Nothing in the movie gives you the illusion those donkey boys ever get saved. Pinocchio gets turned into a real boy, sure, but who the fuck would want to live as a human in this world filled with occult slave traders turning kids into donkeys and evil, monstrous whales terrorizing the seas?

I think in the original story Pinocchio also tries to kill a boy and cut out his heart, because he think it'll make him real. I got most of this from the Saban cartoon show though. There's also an episode where he throws himself on a dying fire so that a little girl won't freeze to death, but when the villagers finally rescue them these other boys take the credit for keeping her alive. There's another episode where Pinocchio gets bought by some rich guy as a substitute son, and he goes made with greed, treating Gepetto like absolute shit and trying to run down his servents on horseback.

lord of the rings - sam carries frodo to the top, unhindered by gollum. frodo awakens when they reach the top, with gollum in the way. frodo puts on the ring, and stabs gollum through the chest, claiming the ring is now his, his own, his precious... sam believes frodo has now been corrupted by the ring, and has no choice but to throw both frodo and the ring into the fire. in the struggle they make it to edge of the ledge, and sam slashes at frodo, cutting off the hand that was holding the ring. frodo stumbles back, losing his balance on the edge. with his hand cut off and the ring falling into the fire, frodo wakes from his rage and drops his sword, trying to reach for sam to hold on. sam tries to reach for his hand to save him, but is too slow and frodo slips, falling into the fire, his last words as he falls being a soft "sam, forgive me..." sam falls to his knees, crying. cue a flashback to the end of the two towers, where frodo and sam joke about the tales that will be told of them, with frodo saying "frodo wouldn't have gotten far without his sam". sam sees the lava rising, and stays still, allowing the fires of mt doom to consume him.

the final scene can be the fellowship and bilbo at rivendell, paying their respects to two lying down statues of frodo and sam. each departs in silence, going their own way apart from gandalf and bilbo getting on the boats together (possibly with aragorn pulling up his rangers hood as opposed to his crown). the last to depart being merry and pip, with merry placing a hand on pip's shoulder softly saying "lets go home pip, lets go home". final scene being a high angle shot of merry and pip standing at the feet of the two statues.

The World Ends With You:

Feeling betrayed, Neku quickly raises his gun and shoots Joshua. Joshua wasn't expecting it to happen, so he fails to reactivate his powers in time and is killed by the shot. This means that Neku becomes the new Composer, and the fact that it happened while he was still enraged by Joshua leads him to forget about Shiki and Beat, and ironically finish what Joshua started - destroying Shibuya.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica- Lop off the last two episodes of the series. Have it end on episode 10. That's some dark shit right there.
I'd say ending it at episode 8 would be a darker ending.
I'd I have to disagree with you on that point. While 8 was sad, 10 stuck Homura in an entire futile time loop of sadness. Also, unlike 10, I'd say 8 isn't really conclusive.

Cute madoka avatar, BTW :)

Dr Who- Amy miscarries River Song and dies in childbirth. The entire thing is shown. Rory, as a nurse, tries to save them, but fails. The Doctor and Rory blame eachother and try to kill eachother. Rory kills The Doctor by shoving the sonic screwdriver through his eye. Show fades to black with Rory weeping over the corpses in the TARDIS, desperately attempting CPR on Amy's corpse.

That's as ridiculously dark as I dare make it without sickening myself a bit. Still, it would be a pretty awkward tonal shift, especially for any children watching.

The Last Of Us:

Joel let's the surgery take place. Though they are able to take samples of her reaction to the fungus, the 'cure' they come up with only infects people as if they were regularly exposed. Ellie dies from the surgery. An enraged Joel, as in the real ending, takes to killing just about all of the Fireflys. No hope remains.

The Truth wouldn't accept Ed's offer of his alchemy for Al's body and soul. He took Ed's arm in exchange for Al's soul when they were younger, but that's because children are generally regarded as more precious than adults. After aging so much and going through war, seeing death, themselves killing others, they're no longer children. And the ability to perform alchemy and all the knowledge that goes with it is worth vastly more than one sickly boy. The Truth may not have the best of intentions when making deals, but he's always fair in his trades

The Truth looks at Ed and says "Since you now know exactly what it will take for me to give you your brother back, I'll take your entire alchemic ability in exchange for that bit of alchemic knowledge. That's only if you want to leave right now and try again later, but I'll warn you I can't guarantee how long your brother will still be here. Without his connection to the physical world there's nothing holding him back anymore, he'll have to move on soon. But if you want him right now, I'll take your body and soul instead of his. You're missing a leg though, so I'll send back everything but his left leg. How's that sound?"

Ed doesn't see any other way out, and thinking about it he was the reason this happened to Al anyway. It was Ed's plan to perform human transmutation, Al helped but he always tried to get Ed to stop. Al was punished for Ed's mistake, so it's only fair that Ed give up his body for his brother's. A missing leg isn't that big a deal, Whinry can easily make him a great automail leg. Ed accepts the exchange

Back in the physical world everyone watches as Al's extremely unhealthy body appears in a flash, minus one leg. However he starts severely bleeding from his wound. Through the battle all the hospitals were destroyed and it would take way too long to take him to another city or town for medical treatment. Hoenheim uses the last of his philosopher's stone to seal up Al's wound, but it's too late. The malnourishment he suffered over the years beyond the Gate has taken its toll, Al wouldn't get the chance to recover. Hoenheim turns to crumbling stone having used the last of his power in vain

They saved all of Amestris and probably the entire world becoming heroes, but in the end they failed their true goal of just being whole again

Symphony of the Night: Richter dies even after getting the true ending. He makes Maria promise that she will fight Dracula while the next Belmont grows up. She asks him to stay with her, but Alucard's guilt makes him refuse and he seals himself.

Inception: Dom is with his kids as in the original ending. Miles (Michael Caine's) character looks from afar with depressed look in his face, serious music comes in as why hear the voice of Mal say "do you think he's ready to wake up?" as she walks into the the frame. Miles responds with "No."

Ico: Yorda stays in castle (which does not fall apart). She returns to the coffin room, the shadow sprites bow before her, accepting her as the new Queen.

Beat me to it. Alternatively, episode 12 ends with

Doctor Who - The Parting of the ways.

The Doctor finishes preparing the delta wave transmitter just in time for the daleks to finish murdering everyone else on Satellite 5. The Dalek Emperor taunts him.

"Prove yourself, Doctor. What are you - coward or killer?"

The Doctor's hands tense on the lever. He shakes, his face screwed up in pain. Then, he relaxes, looks up at the monitor and grins widely.

"You know what? The second time really is a lot easier."

He pushes down the lever. The delta wave fries the brain of every living thing in the solar system.

Rose Tyler materializes moments later aboard a dead station orbiting a dead Earth. Since she can see all of time and space, she has just enough time to truly comprehend the totality of the Doctor's failure before the Time Vortex burns her body to ash. The last human in the universe dies screaming.

The daleks survive as they always survive. But this time, there's no Doctor to stop them. They sweep across the universe, exterminating all other life. When there is nothing left to kill they turn on each other. Everything has its time and everything dies.
You know what? That's still preferable to three more seasons of Rose Tyler showing up.

Ok: This is for HYMIM. That show has been going on for so long that ijust want ted mosby to suffer:

(this is a scene. no words are uttered): We see the image of Ted's two children dissolve, and resolves into a fire hydrant and a tree. The camera pans showing a homeless man (played by ted mosby's actor) muttering to himself, with nearby a group of young, 20-something friends (the other main characters of the show) slowly walking away from the creepy homeless man that stares at them with so much intensity.

Another one: Harry potter. I didnt have this idea (found it on the interwebs, could not find a proper source) but the basic idea is that this is the cruelest ending to Harry Potter: Basically it was all a dream. Everything. He wakes up on the day of dudley dursley's birthday, after having a wonderful dream about magic that just fades away. Here's a link to the original since I dont know how to embed pics:

http://imgur.com/wq8Xm

It is just deliciously cruel.
