Bioshock Infinite:
Honestly that's not too far off from what I expected as the game wore on.
At the end when it is revealed to Booker that in one reality he is Comstock and the Elizabeth's drown him, instead of their timelines collapsing one by one the true villains reveal themselves; the Luttece twins. They reveal that Booker's death, while effective in ensuring that Comstock never is, was the final variable which needed to be removed in order for them to collapse the multiverse into nothingness; they feel that it is an inevitable conclusion and wish to speed the process along so that they might view it for themselves. The Elizabeths, by creating and opening tears willy nilly, have made this process much easier by connecting all the universes together for them.
The scene shifts to the realm of the lighthouses where the Elizabeths look on in horror as one by one the lighthouses begin to fizzle, turn grey, and crumble into the sea. The light fades and everything goes dark.
