Anyone wanna try this one one more time?

When you stop and look, you can always see me. If you try to touch you cannot feel me. I cannot move, but as you near me, I will move away from you. What am I?
Hmmm...the future?

What goes into the water red and comes out black?
A smouldering piece of coal.

What goes into the water black and comes out red?
A lobster.

I am taken from a mine, and shut up in a wooden case, from which I am never released, and yet I am used by almost everybody. What am I?
Can't be lead, because pencils use graphite... Coal? because that's what graphite is.
Close enough, yes, and graphite, in that order.

Works better in spoken conversation but still

'Twas whispered in Heaven, 'twas muttered in hell,
And echo caught faintly the sound as it fell;
On the confines of earth 'twas permitted to rest,
And in the depths of the ocean its presence confes'd;
'Twill be found in the sphere when 'tis riven asunder,
Be seen in the lightning and heard in the thunder;
'Twas allotted to man with his earliest breath,
Attends him at birth and awaits him at death,
Presides o'er his happiness, honor and health,
Is the prop of his house, and the end of his wealth.
In the heaps of the miser 'tis hoarded with care,
But is sure to be lost on his prodigal heir;
It begins every hope, every wish it must bound,
With the husbandman toils, and with monarchs is crowned;
Without it the soldier and seaman may roam,
But woe to the wretch who expels it from home!
In the whispers of conscience its voice will be found,
Nor e'er in the whirlwind of passion be drowned;
'Twill soften the heart; but though deaf be the ear,
It will make him acutely and instantly hear.
Set in shade, let it rest like a delicate flower;
Ah! Breathe on it softly, it dies in an hour.

I'll take a guess and say the letter 'h' ?

My habitation's in a wood,
and I'm at anyone's command.
I often do more harm than good
if just once I get the upper hand.
I never fear a champion's glare,
or a hero's unyielding stare.
Brave soldiers all, I can fell them down,
I never fear their sword or gun.

What am I?

Almost everyone sees me without noticing me, For what is beyond is what he or she seeks. What am I?

The criminal rides into town on Tuesday.
He stays at a tavern for 3 days.
Then rides out of town on Wednesday.
He didnt stay at any other bar, tavern or hotel, and didn't sleep rough.
How is this possible?

How is this possible?
He rode in on a horse named Tuesday, then stole a horse named Wednesday.
