Okay, so I was thinking about how one would recognize bronies and I suddenly remembered that story (I think it's from the book Freakonomics, but I'm sure it involved Superman) about the KKKs old codes whereby one would ask a seemingly innoculous question with a code response. It occurred to me one could similarly ask another guy:"Have you ever ridden a pony?" and he could reply "No, but I do ride bronies." Now, there's one huge flaw here you may have already caught: it sounds suspiciously gay.
That got me thinking: is this a thing? I mean, there are fetishes for just about everything nowadays. Are there gay guys specifically into bronies? If not, this so totally needs to start happening. If for no other reason than that I want the term "riding bronies" introduced to contemporary slang. Hell, it doesn't even have to be a gay thing. Fine for women too.
On a slightly more serious note, how tolerant is the Escapist of semi-serious nonsensical threads started by somebody who's had too much caffeine?
EDIT: Right, sorry. Forgot to explain. Bronies is plural for brony or guys who watch the recent My Little Pony: Friendship is magic show. I know that sounds really lame, but Chris Sims compared the main character to John Constantine on comicsalliance.com and that was reason enough for me to check it out. Laughed and went 'awww' more times in 22 minutes than I should have, so now I'm hooked.
