Media watchdogs tend to often be quite rabid. Especially when they're thinking of the children. Still, there are moments when a crafty author manages to sneak a rather suggestive scene in. Bonus if you didn't get it when you were a kid, then made the "HNNNNNG" sound when you re-watched it as adult.

Here are some of my favorite ones.

- I think so Brain, but where are we going to get rubber pants our size?

- I think so Brain, but wouldn't his movies be more suitable for children if he was named, "Jean-Claude Van Darn"?

- I think so Brain, but pantyhose are so uncomfortable in the summer time.

- I think so Brain, but what if the chicken won't wear the nylons?

I'm sure I missed a few...

You can't go wrong with Rocko's Modern Life and the joke that the restaurant was called "Choky Chicken". In the later seasons, it was changed to "Chewy Chicken", for some unknown reason.

I only exclusively watched Nickelodeon when I was a kid, and Rocko was the only show off the top of my head I could recall.

Indeed. Rocko's Modern Life is absolutely chock-full of such moments. It's amazing they got away with as much as they did.

They didn't get away with everything, though. A few scenes were only aired once because of complaints.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that they changed "Chokey Chicken" to "Chewy Chicken" because the censors finally caught on.

When they were writing Animaniacs, sometimes they would write one or 2 jokes that they knew the studio wouldn't allow, just to "sneak in" a few jokes that were on the fence.

Looney Tunes had a lot of humour for adults:

Somehow I remember Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom (aka the best game of all time) had a show called "Retirement Home Girls Gone Wild".

Hell yeah battle for bikini bottom was fantastic, so many days of my childhood were spent on that masterpiece.

OT: While I'm on the subject, Spongebob did have a lot of jokes that went over my head as a kid such as when Spongebob tells Gary not to drop "doubloons" that are bars of soap.

I don't have a picture of it, but in the third season of avatar the last airbender, in the episode, The Southern Raiders, Zuko runs into Suki on his way to Sokka's tent. Sokka has the candles lit, the rose out, the whole nine yards. He has his discussion and leaves. We see Sokka call Suki again. .....The Next Morning......

Sokka has a lei around his neck.

Suki is missing the flower from her hair.

That's right kids! Sokka got lei'd and Suki got deflowered!

The reason is that the Looney Tunes writers never consider them as a "kids show". They were originally screened before the movies in the theater, and many of them were never seen again (so, they were used as the Pixar shorts for old Warner Picture movies). Many of them were censored when adapted to TV, but there are still ways to get the unedited content.

One example was a character called private Snafu that they produced for the US military. The real acronym is well known, but they presented him as "Situation Normal, All F...ouled Up"
