So I was on Tumblr and there were little gifs of Lilo and Stitch. If you watched it, you know at the beginning Lilo's explaining why she was late, because Pudge needed that sandwich because he controls the weather.

I'm reading the notes, and well;

"This is actually heartbreaking when you remember Lilo tells Stitch her parents went for a drive, and the bad weather caused them to crash."

Oh god why??

Suffice to say, that scene really breaks my heart now.

So, Escapist. What scenes in old shows have you re-watched lately and had a "Right in the childhood" moment.

Well, in the animated version of Batman, I recall when his parents got shot, it just showed the popcorn dropping. I always thought they got turned into popcorn until I realized that they died.

I used to watch the movie willow over and over and over again as a kid, and would always cry in fear and dread the scene when the evil sorceress who was presumed dead does the banshee scream.

Does Rikki Tikki Tavi count?

Because that freaked me out as a kid.

I didn't get the quote at first until after thirty seconds of pondering.

Damn, my heartstrings.

Right in the Childhood? Well I could remember my experience with the movie Dumpli-- OH! Childhood MEMORIES! That's a different story, well I used to watch Rocko's Modern Life and that was riddled with seedy adultness that I didn't get right away, that is until I saw this:

Realizing that Mufasa was the alpha lion in his pride, which meant that all the lion cubs in The Lion King were his children by different lionesses, and so Simba and Nala are half-brother and sister and their relationship is incest. Yeah...right in this childhood.

You were one messed up kid, then. I really enjoyed Rikki Tikki Tavi - he was da boss! Also, one of the first books I read on my own. I'm not sure, it could have been the first, too.

Well, relatively recently, as in "this year", I watched some Asterix and Obelix (the animated movies). I so loved them...and I still do! I got the urge to dig up my Asterix comics. Only I don't really know where they are and if I still have them at all :( Pretty much the only comics I've ever had, too.

I'm with this guy. I didn't realize that's why she fed the fish, even after I watched the movie about eighty times.

Captcha: Face the music...damn creepy how often these things are accurate.

They're both douchebags.

I'm assuming you did not grow up with the show...
I did. Dag and Norbit were jerks. It was a pretty terrible show, honestly, as was Catdog, Rocket Power, The Wild Thonberrys... Really all of the nicktoons they started adding in the early 2000s, after the originals got cancelled and/or turned into franchise zombies.

I liked it....so did many others.....

At least give it credit for not being 90% of the trash that is on today.

For not being 90% of the crap that was on in about 2008, maybe, but I'll take Cartoon Network's current lineup over pretty much anything that was on Nickelodeon at the time. Nickelodeon had kind of an awkward phase there, which got slightly better when Fairly Oddparents and Jimmy Neutron came out, and then got bad again a few years later.

Edit: Come to think of it, Spongebob's release may be a better marker for the point where they left that awkward phase. Basically from the time the original crop of Nicktoons was cancelled to the time Spongebob Squarepants came out, Nickelodeon was kind of fumbling around trying to find its footing. They also cancelled all of the good live action shows they had in the early 90's around the same time. It was a pretty big upheaval, it took them a while to find their footing on the new focus for the network, and it never did get quite as good as it was in the 90's.

I don't even know if I saw it as a kid, but the episode "Over The Edge" had me almost weeping yesterday. There's a scene near the beginning that is just heartbreaking.
