Hi, this looks interesting, if I can I'll enter it.

I'm a bit too busy, so I won't be able to make a char today.

Though, for reference where does this game take place?
.
In the USA, in the same medium sized town near the beach. I don't want to use a name because I'm not planning on using Google maps... so the town will be fictional.

I seemed to be all nice and dandy at first, but I have a few questions.
Fair enough.
TheIronRuler said:
Huge gap between confronting your father and getting married, finding a proper job, etc. ... Does that mean that nothing important happened there?
Nothing earth shattering to his demeanor anyways. He studied and he worked various jobs until he attained his degree and started teaching. Marriage happened in there at some point but the exact time isn't really super important.

So basically, a lot of things happened but they were glazed over because they were mostly mundane.
TheIronRuler said:
He's a teacher, and while having a... trip outside? with his students, he fell down a cliff. Right. Just correct me if I got it wrong. Looks good so far.
One of the duties of his profession is to help with the detailed topographic mapping of the surrounding area. The people with him may have been other experts or they may have been grad students. That's a detail that can be filled in if it becomes relevant.

But yeah, you are correct on his cause of death.
TheIronRuler said:
What disturbed me so much is that you achieved closure with your family in two hours. And you said you were a ghost. A ghost.
Imagine that a loved one had died, and an hour afterwards he comes in to your house. The first thing you do is hug him and what not, then you ask him how he survived. It just seems off, but if you do want to keep it that way, did he really get over the prospect of a life with his family in two hours?
Ah, the real meat of the issue.

In short: Closure was not attained. And he is not over the prospect of life with his family.

What Adrian probably should have done was just go straight to the apartment and left his family out of the equation completely. However, he desperately wanted to see them just one more time before he left. He told them that he was a ghost because that was the only thing that came to mind that he could justify his need to leave after his sudden rise from the dead.

Was it a good idea? Absolutely not.

He has left his wife and daughter with an existential crisis from his need to see them one last time. He chose a flimsy explanation that will send their entire view of the realm beyond the grave into flux. At best, his wife will always be confused and heartbroken about the events of that evening and his daughter will have to grow up dealing with a depressed and confused mother.

And that's the best case scenario. What happens if they end up seeing him again when he's out on a contract? What sort of drama would sprout up from there?

If it still doesn't work for you after this justification, then I can change it around. However, I think the realization that his ultimately selfish gesture has done more harm than good would be an interesting moment to play with down the line.

TheIronRuler said:
Plus, I'm having a hard time pinning an ability to his personality&Bio, but we'll talk about that in PM once I get everything settled.
That sounds fine.

I´m new to this RP thingy, so I´m sorry if I´m a noob and ask too many questions.

Name: Peter North.

Gender: Male.

Age: 27

Apperance: Mr North is 6 feet tall, with tired green eyes and a slightly hunched standing pose. He has high cheekbones giving him a slightly untrusting and false apperance, not at all helped by his unruly hair that can best be desribed as a combination of Einstein´s and Keanue Reeves hairstyle. Most of his clothes are old and dirty, his shoes in particular are barely holding together. He has a hurried and nervous walking style.

Education: Robotics (College)

Occupation: Teacher (University) and cashier at Mcdonalds (he works two jobs)

Biography: Peter North was named after his dads northern heritage (Finnish). His childhood can at best be described as troubled, at worst as abusive. His dad left his mom as soon as he found out she was pregnant, and his mother was only 21. They lived in the ghetto, barely making a living. He had no time for homework since he had too do everything at home for himself.

Yet, he found a way. He did all his homework and worked real hard, because he always wanted to work in robotics, ever since he saw Terminator (which his mother bought him for christmas)
When his mother died at 18, he was forced out in the world, which became a sort of trial by fire.

He made it up to college and got his degree in technology related areas. But he was poor. He could barely afford even the lowest apartment and his current college debt is killing him. LITERALLY. Due to the stress of having to work two jobs, he´s resorted to a new streetdrug, Triptocain(REFRENCE), which is kept in a small glass container and snorted into the nose. He loves his teacher job, but the stress is tearing him down...

Personality: Peter is constantly in a hurry. He has a fondness for riddles and games, and absolutely loves crosswords. His abrupt demeanor can be mistaken for rudeness, but he inherently believes in the good of all people.

But he has trouble handling stressful situations, and everything that forces him to make life-changing choices or sudden life changes can cause him to have a nervous breakdown.

And his addiction to Triptocain causes withdrawl and abstinence if he doesn´t take it regularily.

Cause of death: Peter had just come home from work when a doctor called and said his mother had died of heart attack, leaving Peter with no family left. Peter had one of his signature nervous breakdowns. He ran to the drawer where he kept his Triptocain and took three vials of the stuff. Two is too much. He passed out from the high and ten minutes later choked on his own vomit.

How you said goodbye: No family. Peter left a note in the classroom where he said that he loved all his students and thought they were the best aspect of his life. He went to his house and picked up the two vials of Triptocain left. Then he walked to the apartment.

Was that okay?

Name: Project-0453, calls himself Hank/Blade

Age: ?? (Looks 20)

Gender: Male

Appearance: Pure white skin and eyes, bald, wears bandages all over his body due to his skin being hurt by exposure to bright lights, wears a black Trench coat, a Black Bandana over his head and face and Black Jeans with Boots over them, Black Fingerless gloves, always has Red Goggles on over his eyes.
Education: None, although Blade knows a lot for some reason

Occupation: Experiment.

Bio: Created in a Pharmaceutical Company's R&D lab as a testbed for various new performance enhancers, Hank was forced to undergo endless suffering as a result.
This is all that he knows and all he was taught.
To cope with this day in and day out, his mind created a Split personality called Blade, who in turn referred to him as Hank.
Blade quickly became the Brain for the both of them, How he knows all the stuff he does, he doesn't even know.
They soon grew to accept their life, until it soon ended.
While Hank had no idea what happened, Blade does and he is pissed about it.

Personality: While Hank doesn't know anything, by instinct wants to protect others.
However, his is simple and can't even talk, so Blade tells him how to communicate (I.E. Blade: "Huhhh...try waving at them.")
Blade on the other hand is a mean sarcastic git who is trying to pull Hank away from others as to avoid Hank from swaying in their mission.

COD: Hank and his other self died when the CEO shut down the project and ,thus , pulled the plug on him/them. His body was then thrown off a vessel in the sea.

Goodbye: Hank spent his last moments wondering why the Company even made him while Blade was telling him to hunt them down and kill them for the life they gave Him/Them.
He walked from the sea and went to the Skyscraper in the City Center.
As he was a ghost, he managed to get to the top floor and saw the CEO laughing with his friends, all people who worked in R&D.
As the Darkness took him, Blade managed to talk Hank into killing them, but their time came before they could do anything.
Trying a new style of Character for this.
Also what Hank Thinks will be in Blue While Blade will be in Red, Communicative actions will be in Purple

I see a lack of girl characters :p although I came up with the character before I noticed that.

Here it is:

Name: Mira Towers

Age: 30

Appearance: Mira has a narrow, gaunt face with freckles dotting her face. She stands at 5'8 with brown eyes with shoulder length, black hair. She is slim at the waist because of her hour-glass figure. She often keeps it tied in a knot. Her usual attire consist of jeans, long sleeve shirts, and skirts but on the day of her death she wore her proud Paramedic attire which was navy blue pants with a white t-shirt. A scar runs down her back from a car accident long ago.

Education: High School Diploma, Associate's Degree, EMT training

Occupation: Paramedic

Biography: Her career choice of being an EMT became implanted in her brain early on in life when a car accident shattered her family. Her brother had become crippled by a speeding truck but with the help of a few brave First responders did she come to fully appreciate their line of duty. Mother and Father were grateful for the rescue of themselves and their children but when Mira broke the news that she also wanted to be a Paramedic as well they couldn't have been more outraged.

Where would it take her, they asked and how would it be a living for her to risk her life everyday. This shocked Mira but not enough for her to keep on shooting for her dream. The parents have always been at odds with Mira since. Even at her graduation did the parents disapprove with her choice but they tried to make amends. Then came the decision about her brother, David.

Ever since the accident he was barely functioning and put into a vegetative state. As the years went on the expenses got larger and as the economy got worse the problem come up. Mira protested that they keep him alive not only because of her occupation but because David was Mira's only best friend. The Parents argued that it wouldn't have been in David's wishes to be kept alive if he ever was in such a state and that the cost of keeping him alive any longer would be overwhelming.

When the parents pulled the plug on David, Mira swore never to forgive them.

Personality: Mira's occupation has helped her to understand that the little things in life matter because at any moment your life could be taken away. Too many times did Mira come upon a picturesque scene that was wrecked by a horrific accident. She has learned to keep a calm, stoic demeanor in the face of grisly circumstances. Although she tends to crack a smile or a look of concern so that she doesn't completely feel alienated with herself or others. Mira is kind and selfless but she carries a deep hatred for actions or people that seem cold or unforgiving including herself.

Cause of Death: While attending to a comatose car accident victim at the scene of a grisly highway accident, a fuel tank to one of the cars nearby exploded causing the car next to it to start rolling toward the pair. The slope of the highway caused the barreling vehicle to gain momentum. When Mira looked up from covering the victim from the blast the vehicle's bumper crushed her body in between a tractor trailer.

How You Said Goodbye: She ran to her brother's grave and stayed there for the remainder of her time before she had to leave for the address.

I hope you like it! Please tell me if anything is off.

So here we go.

Name: Spencer T. Kane

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Appearance: 5,8 ft tall, average build, green eyes, brown hair, light skin, slight stubble. Spencer's wardrobe contains mostly jeans, t-shirts, hoodies and a few pieces of other non-descript clothing, which is why he doesn't really stand out in a crowd.

Education: With his high school education almost finished, he had high hopes of going to med school. Obviously, that didn't work out.

Occupation: High schooler. Part-time library assistant.

Biography: Grew up in a regular family with his parents and sister. Finished middle school and cut all contact with almost everyone from his former class, claiming he didn't have anything in common with them. He found more like-minded individuals in high school, but still remained a bit distant.

Personality: Raised to value independency, but knows not to bite off more than he can chew. Doesn't dislike people, although he manages to find flaws in a lot of them. A bit persnickety, he plans everything to the last detail and becomes prone to panic in case something goes wrong. Optimistic. Paranoid, keeps his thoughts to himself. He broke his spare key to the library a long time ago, so he had to get some experience in finding alternate ways to get to places out of reach to other people. Sometimes a bit moody, he can go from serious to not-so-serious in a matter of seconds.

Cause of Death: Working late at night at the library, he was doing inventory on a public computer when he heard a noise. The next morning he was found dead under a collapsed bookcase. The news called it an accident, but Spencer could swear it wasn't.

How you said your goodbye: Dead around 11 PM, he used the first minutes of the four hours to send a text message from his phone to Melanie (his sister) and a friend, telling them they "shouldn't believe tomorrow's news", but uncertain if he'd be able to contact them ever again. He grabbed his backpack from the library, containing a wallet, a bus pass, and his laptop and left for the apartment early.
.
I have one problem with your sheet.
If nobody had witnessed his death, reported and actually declared him dead, how did his sister and mother know that he died? He was brought back to life two hours after his demise, meaning that after his death his body should have been found and he should have been declared dead.
Sort that out, edit the sheet and inform me. Overall, a nice character.

You have missed the point of the RP completely. Without a doubt, this had been the worse application yet. Not because of the level of writing, any inconsistencies, but because you completely missed the point.
The whole point of this game is to be human. You are instructed to kill in order to survive yourself. Here you have a dilemma. Plus, your past haunts you. That character has absolutely no conflict. First you need to understand the RP and then show me another character sheet, hopefully it'll be good.

Great character.
I want to see how she deals with her new role as a murderer. When she gets into the RP, run a side plot where she tries to look for her dead brother (Asking her boss, etc.)

Not good at all.
Appearance is very strange.
His lack of wealth is very strange since he's a college professor. Why would he work in two jobs?
Change "homework" to "even though he had to work in two part time jobs, he still found time to study". Sounds much, much better. It elevates it from third grade to eighth grade. Maybe ninth?
If you play a drug addict, you have three archetypes -
Recreational user, Goal specific (Steroid, for example) and just pure addiction.
I can't pin one of these on your charcater. Also, since he's a dealer he ought to know the effect and how much of it is too much. Therefore when he overdosed he killed himself, making him not available as a recruit.
Change it or preferebly do it again from scratch. Inform me when you're done.

Name- Benjamin Debue
Gender- Male
Age- 20

Appearance- Benjamin stands at a height of 5'9", with medium length brown hair and brown eyes. He is slightly tanned, with no visible blemishes on his skin. He is not overly thin, yet is not overweight either. He typically wears an unlabeled white or black t-shirt and jeans on top of a pair of brown oxford-style shoes.

Education: 2nd year University chemistry student- recently expelled

Occupation: Unemployed

Biography: Benjamin had a fairly good life. The second child of three, David was born into wealth. He was able to persue anything and everything he wanted to do so. He played the guitar, read at a highly proficient level, and never really had to worry about a job. Despite his upbringing, his parents also instilled the importance of work ethic and proactivity into his personality. Due to his parent's wealth, he was able to travel to many places in the world, which established a sense of wanderlust into him.
In school, Benjamin excelled, particularly in the fields of math, physics and chemisty, scoring some of the highest grades in the school in those classes. He enjoyed the classes so much that he decided to major in chemistry in university. During his time at the university, he was a part-time lab assistant in a chemistry labratory. During his time there, he periodically stole small amounts of chemicals for himself to experiment with, altering the inventory tables to cover his tracks. During the first semester of his third year, he was caught in the act and expelled from the school. When his parents found out about it, he was disowned, given only what he had left in his trust fund.

Personality: Benjamin is a sociopath, he catagorizes people into two groups- the useful and the useless. He has no use for friends, though he has contacts, many of whom owe him favors. He is also typically very quiet, not seeing the use in filling up the quiet with useless chatter. Benjamin also happens to think in the long-term, taking out large quantities of money at a time, and pays in cash almost exclusively. He is not overly confident, yet is not timid. Between his personality and his looks, Benjamin is not someone you would look for in a crowd.

Cause of Death: When Benjamin was disowned from his family, he was distraught and headed down to a local bar. While there, he got sloppily drunk, eventually bumping into large, drunk man. The man, angered, right-hooked Benjamin near his temple, instantly killing him.

How he said his goodbye: Due to his estrangement with his family, Benjamin did not say anything to his them and headed straight for his apartment after he woke up. When he reached his apartment, he pulled out the note and booted up his computer, finding the address. He would hear the mysterious man, and then try to formulate a plan to try and work out how to get out of the contract, yet still stay alive.

Hows this? First time I've created a character sheet like this, and I sorta wanted to play a sociopath for it, might make it interesting.

It looks good. The like the ending - He'll try and weasel his way out of the deal, any way possible. He died a few days/hours after his parents disowned him, am I correct?
Then what motive does he have to live besides living? Achieving his dreams? Mending his bonds with his parents? Or does he just want to beat death?
I like the third option best. Overall the character is fine.

How you said your goodbye: Dead around 11 PM, he used the first minutes of the four hours to send a text message from his phone to Melanie (his sister) and a friend, telling them they "shouldn't believe the news", but uncertain if he'd be able to contact them ever again.
Okay, added report of death with the cause of death. Also, I'd like to ask you to be generous with the "borrowed time", at least this weekend since I'll be a bit busy until tomorrow evening (GMT+1 time), since it's Christmas and all.

Another question - what did you mean by "He broke his spare key to the library a long time ago, so he had to get some experience in finding alternate ways to get to places out of reach to other people".

Hi, wouldn't mind giving this a go (never done this kind of thing before) I'll work on a character sheet over the next couple of days. Christmas time is irritatingly full of family and associates stuff.

How he said his goodbye: Due to his recent estrangement with his family, Benjamin did not say anything to his them and headed straight for his apartment after he woke up. When he reached his apartment, he pulled out the note and booted up his computer, finding the address. He would hear the mysterious man, and then try to formulate a plan to try and work out how to get out of the contract, yet still stay alive.

Hows this? First time I've created a character sheet like this, and I sorta wanted to play a sociopath for it, might make it interesting.
.
Yeah, he died about a day after his parents disowned him, and yeah, his reason for living is that he just wants to beat death.

What I meant was that he had to pick the lock, or climb through a window, so he basically has experience in getting into locked buildings. Or breaking into them. Hope that clears it up.

So he can pick locks, sneak around and get into various buildings? Because that's an important detail you can use to your advantage.

Well, I have some time to kill until I get tired enough for Christmas, so I'll write up a sheet, since this looks interesting.

Name: Evelyn Henson

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Appearance: Evelyn, or as she prefers to be called by her friends, Evey stands at roughly 5'8, and is skinny almost to the point of looking malnourished, and pale as a ghost, even before she bled out. She has dark brown hair that reaches a little past her shoulders that she usually keeps swept back but not tied, with wide, inquisitive green eyes.
Each of her arms bear a long straight scar the entire way up her forearm that she tries to keep hidden whenever possible with long sleeves of jumpers and jackets. Her wardrobe in general is quite varied, but tends to be quite figure hugging and tastefully bright. She nearly always wears a dark grey fedora she was given for her birthday a year ago.

Education: Standard education up until 17

Occupation: School student/ part-time pastry chef at a bakery

Biography: Evey was left one the doorstep of an orphanage with nothing but a blanket wrapped around her, but was adopted by a moderately wealthy English doctor and lawyer who were incapable of having children. She was raised in relative normalcy, attending school as she would have and was a fairly good student, making mostly As and Bs. In high school, she blossomed socially, and gained a great many friends, accidentally getting inducted into the "cool" crowd. On the surface, everything appeared fine for her, but inside, she suffered from quite serious depression that she always hid, not seeking help or letting it show if she could. At 15, she decided to end her own life, and tired to commit suicide by slitting her own wrists. Luckily, she survived, and was put on a course of anti-depressants, returning to school as normal, explaining her absence as part of the swine flu epidemic, not willing to admit to her brush with death. Her parents encouraged her to try new things after her "accident" as they only ever referred to it, so she tried various things, but found a fresh wind in cooking, somewhat to her parents' worry, due to the close proximity to knives and sharp objects. Nonetheless, they supported her as much as they could with their busy schedules, and she got a part time job working in a bakery as a pastry chef, preparing the sweets such as cakes and pies.

Personality: Evey was generally quite a bubbly girl, though quite shy about personal things, having a habit of "hiding behind her hair" whenever the conversation turned to her. Bright and inquisitive, she had a lot of friends she was very close to. She was quick to judge, and often spoke before thinking things through, but rarely held grudges. She was quite fickle however, and had a short temper, getting upset at seemingly small things sometimes for very little reason as a result of her antidepressants.

Cause of Death: Exsanguination. Evey was washing up at home after lunch with her parents both at work, and tripped when bringing a knife into the kitchen, falling onto the point and accidentally stabbing herself in the heart. She bled out while reaching for a kitchen towel to mop up the blood, still not quite sure what had happened.

How you said your goodbye: Evey waited for the man to leave, then finished washing up in a state of shock, then cleaned up, not wanting to leave a mess behind her for her parents to clean up. She then went upstairs, cleaned the wound up and packed a bag with a couple of changes of clothes and some toiletries, then left a note on the fridge saying that she would be out for a little while, and not to worry, then left, knowing it would take her at least an hour to get downtown, and maybe another half hour to find the place the note said to be at.

He can pick locks and get into various buildings. He never really had to sneak around because he WORKS at the library, so he's not an intruder or anything like that. The only reason he had to break in is because he broke his key. Am I making any sense?
