No, the title is not a horrible joke. I saw it on Twitter, and it's apparently confirmed news. The actor from Twilight, is gonna star as the lead singer of grunge band Nirvana in a biographic movie on the band.

Really? Robert Pattinson in another movie that shouldn't have been made -- within good reason? Geeze, he's like a magnet for these things.
EDIT: To clarify on that last remark. Robert Pattinson may actually be a good actor, he just seems to have had a spot of bad luck or made bad decisions.

I agree with the whole 'stop with the Kurt Cobain/Nirvana' projects. I do seriously wish they'd let him rest in peace now, after a decent career that gave us great music, and let his memory fade away gently as it has with every other dead music star.
However, regarding the 'Robert Pattinson shouldn't play him' outcry, anyone who says that is , in my opinion, just completely ignorant. Robert Pattinson is not a bad actor. He is a good actor who simply has done bad films. The Twilight series? He admitted himself that he hates the series and that he's only in it for the money. Which, from a business point of view, is perfectly sensible.
This also serves to explain why his acting is so bad in the Twilight films - he wasn't bothered about the acting, he'd already got the job and was being paid. Everything else I've seen him in, he's been pretty darn good. I'm looking forward to his latest film too, alongside Emilie de Ravin. So having Robert Pattinson play Kurt Cobain may not be a bad choice. He may suck, true, but there's also a strong possibility that he will actually do the role justice.
I still reckon that the spate of Kurt Cobain cash-ins needs to die though. The GH game was enough, but this is starting to take the Michael now...

Personally, never really liked Nirvana. Never really caught my interest, and then they did that horrid cover of Man Who Sold the World. Kind of put the nails in the coffin for me

I've never really liked Nirvana much at all but I wish they'd stop making money out of this poor guy and let him RIP.
In all honesty I've never seen Robert Pattison in anything other than in shitlight, so it's kinda hard to judge if he's a good actor because even the most talented actor couldn't make that film anywhere near good.
Lets just hope this film doesn't spawn a load of 14 year olds suddenly loving Nirvana like they all did when MJ died.
