Robert Pattinson to play Kurt Cobain

They already made a film about Kurt Cobain... Can't remember what it was called though, but the important thing I remember about it was that it was really boring and it sucked...

Why they are making another film about him is about as unfathomable to me as their apparent choice of actor. Robert Pattinson *is* a good musician, certainly better than he is at acting (which isn't all that bad ignoring twilight). But the man looks absolutely nothing like Kurt Cobain!

I must say though, I really don't get what is so horrifically abhorrent about making a biopic film about arguably one of music's most influential songwriters... Isn't this kind of thing to be expected? Yes his image has been exploited a lot recently to make a quick buck but I'm guessing this film just wants to pay hommage to his memory. What's so bad about that? I know Kurt would have hated the idea of it but he technically 'gave up' his right to complain about it no?

I'm not a huge fan of Nirvana,being a pearl jam/soundgarden guy, they should just stop milking Kurt.
I thought he only really got super famous after offing hmself, but from his past, he'd be against this kind of shit.

Sigh. There was a thread about this the other day, so I'll just repeat what I said there.

Robert Pattinson is a bankable actor, he (apparently) resembles Cobain enough to get the role and (what's more) he's actually a good actor. If the people who hate him because of the associates with characters he's played in the past could at least appreciate the latter fact, regardless of what they personally think of said roles, the internet would be a calmer place.

The REAL question here is 'does the story of Kurt's life really need another telling'? The answer is no, but I guess as long as there's a market for such things, people will keep making them.

I'm more pissed of at Courtney Love's constant attempts at exploiting Cobain than I am at a guy who starred in Twilight representing him in a film. She's the biggest ***** ever. Hell, not even Yoko Ono can compare to her.

I think I'm a bit more shocked about the fact that they're actually making a movie about this than Robert Pattinson playing the lead role. Albeit, that's still very weird, and I have a hopeful feeling that it's all just a terrible joke. Honestly, this will end good for no one.

Everyone's already against Robert Pattinson now. I hope he does a good job and proves everyone wrong. Everyone thought Leonardo DiCaprio was a sucky pretty boy after Titanic, but since become Martin Scorsese's pet, he's gained recognition as a good actor. Could happen to Pattinson. Maybe I'm being optimistic.
But seriously, I don't think a Kurt Cobain film needs to be made. Unless Dave Grohl plays himself. Then I'll definitely watch it.

I assume Robot Pattinson is doing this to try and get away from twilight. By this I mean he wants to as quickly as possible not be always remembered as vampire dude.... whatever the characters name is.

The good news for me is that I don't like Nirvana, and I don't like Robert Pattinson based off that one movie I saw where It made me want to die so I have no problem letting my life go on not seeing this movie.
