Please say no. Say no.
I am not sure what this question means. Please elaborate.

doent OOC Mean breaking the fourth wall?
You could say that. It denotes "Out of context" or "Out of character". Simply the talk you conduct as the user on the forum; not as the character in the role-play (henceforth referred to as "RP"). We use the spoiler brackets because they hide that information, so as to make the RP a lot better looking.

I first started RPing on WoW years ago, it seemed nerdy at first but eventually i got hooked...But now I find Forum RPs are better and worse, Better - becuase you arent always limited to well, WoW based RPs. But worse, in the fact that it is sometimes difficult to keep up or imagine to scenario, whereas in wow, well, your standing there. Overall I prefer forum RPs, and Know an original RP which follows these guidelines turns out well...also, people should explian trenchcoating more often, I only found out the meaning recently and ive been on the escapist a while.

Can someone here tell me how to start a new thread on the Escapist, I can't figure it out.
There's a blue button on the top-right side of the threads list that says 'NEW TOPIC'.

Question, is there any rule considering how often a GM can kill off player characters?

If you set it up when you start the RP I don't think that there is any rule or set time limit

Say you have a recruitment thread for a game and it's going nowhere, and currently lying around page 6. How often can/should you bump it?
Once a day keeps it up and not obnoxious. It looks best if it's done by other users of course. ;)

Not generally. The concept which would affect that would be to "not be a dick". It's your RP, but you're only going to piss of players if you're mean to them, and the RP depends on them.

That's a good question. I was involved in an RP, and the GM killed off my character suddenly and without my knowing. The GM and the player should talk before deaths are involved. Unless of course the player left the RP and left their character to the whims of the GM. Then, a death can be a useful plot-device.

Or, conversely, the player made a painfully stupid mistake. In my opinion, what the GM did to you was unfair and unreasonable. But in, say, combat, where the death of one person or group is sometimes the only answer, someone being killed off will happen, and odds are it will be the player if they fool up catastrophically. Although in my experience, GMs are fairly merciful and give people a number of chances before that sort of thing happens.

Forgive me if this is not the right place for a question such as the following. It is a strange one, seeing as it does not pertain to the games themselves. These, I(mostly) know how to work with. Rather, it is a question of practicality within the framework:
I like role playing games. This much you all know. I like being a narrator very much, but once in a while the desire to play a character strikes me.
I am not sure whether it will ever be possible for me, thaugh, to play as a character in a game in this forum. Apperantly, living where I do, I am asleep(or at school) while most members of this RP community are awake, and vice versa. Ergo I am unable to post quickly in reaction to game events or to another player's post, since by the time I get to the computer to write the post, the rest of the players have moved on in time.
This means the closest I will ever be able to play on these forums as a player in a game will be as a solo character. An these are not as fun as members of a group.
What do you think? Is there a solution to the problem? If so, what is it?

Thank you very much for your time and possibly for your answears.
Have a pleasent day.
