Well, he seems perfect already, because when I think of him my first thought it "Roy Who?"
Well to be pedantic, Roy Kinnear is Rory's father, who died in 1988. Of the 11 guys that have played the Dr so far only 2 were household names before getting the job, Davison and Ecclestone. The producers tend to pick actors that are cheap and nuts.

Don't really watch Who excluding a few episodes but this guy seems really for dark compared to the others. Still, wait and see.
He's doing Hamlet, dude. How bright and chipper did you expect?

Similarly, David Tennant did MacBeth. No "wibbly wobbly, timey-wimey" there.

Though I thought his performance was godawful, but that's another story for another day.
Not really saying it's a bad thing, just surprised me considering Tennant and Smith's performances.
But now that you mention it, yeah, I forgot about Tennant doing Hamlet. I should check that out sometime.
Ugggh. I just noticed I wrote "MAcBeth" instead of "Hamlet." Whoops.

But yeah, I expect darkness in Hamlet, but given Robin Williams did Shakespeare, I expect people can be different. I don't know. It seems the rumour is false, but iot'd be interesting to see his take on the Time Lord.
