...and here's where i show my ignorance. What is KotOR?

I would most definately have looked into PC RPG's well before now, but the unfortunate truth is that I'm on a Mac and no game developers in their right mind make any RPG's, or decent games, save for Age of Empires if that floats your boat. I have played Fallout 3, enjoyed it but had an almighty strop when i got into the very last room with the purifier and could not leave the room. At all.

Also, does anyone have any info on Demon's Souls?? It's an RPG from Japan, but not really a JRPG if you get what i mean. Apparently you can import a version in English and I've heard from one reviewer that it is most likely to be one of the best games, let alone RPG's, for this console generation. Anymore advice would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks.

There are so many good RPGs on PS2, I don't know where to begin... Persona 3:FES is newest addition to my collection, and its great for now (about 50 hours of playing) - you should definitely try it

Knights of the Old Republic. It's a Star Wars based RPG from Bioware on the PC and XBox. I would also recommend it.

Tales of Destiney 2 for the ps2 was ignored by many for whatever reason, but is a great, long, fun, well involved game for the ps2. It is one of those that your character continues to gain abilities and better equipment of unique kinds throughout a well enough done story without out too many painfully awful characters. Though it has random encounters, it cant really be called turn based combat. The battles and training up abilities is very gratifying, and playing each character in battle is pretty unique fromone another. A casual or completionist dream, really.

Well as your already playing Oblivion... you've preemptively taken my first advice.

I'd naturally tell you to progress to Fallout 3 (just make sure you explore everything you want before finishing the main quest).

Disgaea 3 for the PS3. You said you liked character building? Well this has plenty of it. It has a strategy turn-based style combat system though but it is done especially well. No two battles are alike. Also it has a quirky storyline and plenty of replay value.

Disgaea 1/2/3, Valkyrie profile 2, Persona 3/FES/4, Suikoden III/V, Shin megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 1/2, Shadow hearts the original and covenant, the xenosaga series, Dragon quest journey of the cursed king. Arc the Lad series. Any of those are well worth a look.

Can vouch for the others above reccomending shadow hearts though the first is dated its easily better than 3 in my opinion and I still consider covenant the best in the series if you can track it down.

Out of games you can easily find at the moment...

PS2:
Persona 4
Dragon Quest VIII
Final Fantasy XII
Xenosaga 3 (Seriously, it's really good, just read a plot synopsis of the previous 2 toget up to speed, they aren't really worth playing)

PS3:
Fallout 3
Valkyria Chronicles
Folklore

I would suggest tons more PS2 titles, but they're all very rare right now and you probably won't be able to find them. Cheers.
