I'm looking for a good CRPG to play. I've played Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate II and Fallout and I've liked those.

I might add Arcanum, not everyone likes it but it's really worth a try and fits in well with your list. Also, for the 10$ it costs, you might want to take a step backward and play the first Balder's Gate, it did a few little things better than the sequel(and some worse).

Old game called Septerra Core

Back in its day it rocked... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Septerra_Core

Setting and basic premise

The world's seven continental layers (referred to as "World Shells" or "Shells") shield access to the clockwork computer planetary core. Legends mention two "core keys" which, during a rare alignment of the shells that allows a beam of sunlight to penetrate through, can unlock the planetary core, releasing the "Legacy of the Creator". This legacy is known as the Kingdom of Heaven. Those living on Shell 1 call themselves "the Chosen". They are descendents of the demigod Marduk, son of the Creator, and have an attitude of superiority over other inhabitants of the planet. Those living on Shell 2 are called "the Junkers", people which make a living out of collecting junk - especially electronic - originating from the upper shell. The main plot is set around members of both shells. The game's main character is Maya, from the Junkers, and the main antagonist, Lord Doskias, comes from a Chosen heritage.

I'm really liking The Witcher. It's not afraid to be a little more "real-life" in the subjects it touches.
I just ordered that game I hope it comes in soon.

Id recommend the witcher also. Its probably the best RPG to come out since 2004, and possibly since bg2. The game revolves more around story, then anything, so if your looking for items/etc ala diablo you wont enjoy it.

There is also an indie RPG coming out next week that looks pretty good, although it uses 2d tiles, called Eschalon http://basiliskgames.com/book1.htm

Have you tried Icewind Dale? It is admittedly more of a dungeon crawl, and has a less involving story than Baldur's Gate, but runs on the same engine. Older game obviously.

There is also Sacred, which is another older game, and probably closer to Diablo than Baldur's Gate in terms of play.

For something new I'd go with The Witcher.

Jade Empire, if "action RPG's" are the kind of thing that soudns your style. It's really fun, succesfuly at making one feel like a Kung-Fu Kick Ass type person, and such.

And here I thought I was the only one who thought this game was wicked awesome. But yeah, for RPG I'd recommend this game for sure. It's addicting in that "I can't tell if I like it or not, but I can't stop playing it" way until you realize you truly do love it.

I can suggest Neverwinter Nights, NWN2 and if you can find it, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, which are awesome games by the makers of Fallout, the sadly closed down Black Isle studios. Also, it doesn't appeal to everyone, but I loved Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magicks Obscura (or just Arcanum, probably).

I think sadly you have played 3 of the 'best' RPG's there are. The others would be System Shock 2 and Deus Ex but they are totally different - still amazing though.

Star Wars Kotor. - Brilliant if you like Star Wars
Neverwinter Nights - Rubbish IMO. The expansions are pretty good apparantly
Fable - Didn't like it

The Witcher - I picked this up recently but haven't played alot of it yet. A flawed gem i think from what i have played so far. Not perfect but still great.

Fallout 2 is better than Fallout i think so definately play that. The original Baldurs Gate is great too, play it with the mod that lets you use the BG2 engine and you are laughing. :D

I've played through KOTOR 1 and 2 but I haven't played the other 2. Gotta love the murderous droid.

Star Control 2 or the latest incarnation The Ur-quan Masters.
I've played this game. I loved talking to the different alien species but the space battles got to be impossible.

I'll have to check out the witcher and some of these others, thanks guys. If anyone knows any good console RPGs as well...not Final Fantasy, Mario RPG or Chrono Trigger, I've played them...I could use some suggestions.

If you are considering Neverwinter Nights, you might want to bypass the main game itself and go straight for the community made modules. No offense to BioWare but the community really did some great things with that game. I've played a few modules that tell a far more interesting and complex story than I ever got out of the main campaign. I'd recommend going to Neverwinter Vault and browsing the Hall of Fame. I particularly enjoyed Adam Miller's campaigns.

I second that.

I also recommend KOTOR or Oblivion (only if you've got a crapload of free time on your hands).

Play KOTOR II at your own risk: without mentioning any spoilers, the ending robs you of any satisfaction you got from playing the game. Everything else about it is great.

Personally, I'm waiting till the Sith Lords restoration project mod by the Team Gizka people is done before trying to dive back into KOTOR 2. But yes, that game is 3/4ths awesome and then.... it just becomes obvious it was rushed out, at the end, basically From all I have seen, that mod will restore the game to its full 100% awesome that it should have been.

You already played the top RPGs, but if you don't mind first person gaming you COULD like "Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines", or for that matter "Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption", which plays more like Neverwinter Nights.

"Arcanum" would probably be the best bet if you enjoyed Fallout or Planescape, it has the same feel of gameplay and narration.
