Very, very bad.

Not only is it impossible to have good gameplay in a console RTS (and therefor pointless) but also noobifies game for the computer.

In the end you'll need a pretty high and effective APM, something that's impossible with noobsticks and something that's being screwed up by developers trying to create games for several platforms.

Rooster Cogburn, if you have played RTS competitively on the computer you'd know that it's rather impossible to have a real good RTS on the console.

Something like this [http://video.google.com/videosearch?rlz=1C1CHMB_enNL322NL322&sourceid=chrome&q=starcraft%20pimpest%20plays&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wv#rlz=1C1CHMB_enNL322NL322&sourceid=chrome&q=starcraft+pimpest+plays&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wv&start=20] just isn't going to happen on a console.
Console players won't be outperforming PC players, but that doesn't make competition impossible. Just different.

I don't see why a specific genre should be stuck on just one platform in all honesty.

Sure, you do get your AVP: Extinctions which make you lose faith in all of mankind but you also get your occasional Halo Wars or RA3 which are actually not too bad.

Saying that RTS games should just stay on the PC sounds as odd to me as the claim that all shooters are better on the PC as well, it's a matter of personal taste, not proven fact.

[small]I think it can be done, we have the technology I just don't understand why people don't use it. I mean for Guitar hero you buy a seperate controller, why not one for RTS's? Guitar Hero is just one game, RTS is a whole genre. I am sure there would be massive profits gained from any.......*goes to get copyright*.[/small]

I have seen RTS on console since GENESIS. NOt found one I could actually play. The only one I still own is Warcraft 2 for Sega Saturn. Only bought it for collecting purposes. Tried to play it. Maybe it's playable, but was too used to PC version.

Playing an RTS without a mouse is a million times worse even than playing a FPS without a mouse.
So unless the console transforms into a home computer, I guess that means NO.

I try to be open minded, but I just keep thinking halo wars would've worked better on the PC.

RTS are probably better on the PC, but anyone who something like ABSOLUTELY NOT NO WAY AT ALL IMPOSSIBLE NOT EVEN A QUESTION 0% PLAYABILITY AT ALL ON A CONSOLE BLARG to me seems like they're being a close minded PC fanboy. Halo Wars wasn't the best RTS, but it wasn't awful. There was some fun to the gameplay and some definitely awesome moments like when 2 friends and I did a 3 mac blast rush to kill one of the other players within 2.5 minutes. The controls were very easy to use. But of course it didn't allow for more complex actions. Still, console RTS's will probably never be able to do some of the more complex things so Ensemble at least made them user friendly.

The escapist review of Halo Wars is completely off. They claimed the controls were awful and they were confusing with "Dozens of button combinations". I can't remember one single button combination in the entire game, let alone dozens. The controls are incredibly easy to use.

Depends.... Like Halo Wars, it lacks a lot of things RTS games on PC's have, yet it's perfect if you want to get into the genre because it teaches you the basics.
