I absolutely adore the attention. Praise me and my gaming skills! All joking aside, I have to say that I don't really mind as long as you STAY THE FUCK OUT OF MY WAY! Seriously, your not a window. -F

I tend to play a lot worse when people watch me play, so I try to avoid that situation the best I can. Only those who I know won't rib me too hard get to watch.

Wow most of you feel annoyed when people watch you play a game? I usually beg my brother to look at the games I play on the pc so that he likes it and we can play coop or something.

Yes, there is one rule:
They must stop. Like, now.

The game immediately goes on pause and they can stare at the menu screen as long as they want for all I care. The only time this is violated is for something like a splitscreen/fighter multiplayer game where everyone is in the same room and where there's something like rotationals going on.

It may be a good time to note I'm on the asocial side, and this is amplified when playing solo/online multiplayer games. >_>

this usually only happens when im out and about with my PSP, I just put the PSP in standby till they piss off, especially this one kid once i was playing FF7 Crisis Core and this kid started to watch so I turned it off, now before you hang me, he was almost on top of the psp like right in my peripheral vision full on I think if he got any closer his nose would be touching my PSP.

he soon left and I resumed gaming and then he came back, this time I said. "Please can you leave me to game in peace?" he shrugged and walked off for 5 mins.... then came back, so I told him "look I asked you nicely to please leave me alone" even my partner at this point was getting creeped out by this kid but he didn't move so I ended up having to get up walk down the other end of the train carriage and ask his parents to please ask there son to leave me alone and that I've asked him nice twice to please leave me be.

Thankfully that did the trick and I gamed in peace for the rest of the trip into Oslo for the trip to Copenhagen. I just cant stand strangers watching what im playing or worse what im doing on my mobile phone or PDA and worse when its kids that park there nose right on my PSP >.<
sounds like one of those PSP commercials from way back when. PSP, get your own.

OT: I don't really mind, though it depends on the game, really. You can watch all you want, but if I'm either a) watching a cutscene or b) in an online match then talking is not permitted. No, I don't care what you had for lunch, now let me watch Shephard say something awesome while shooting aliens, you prick.

As long as I'm winning I don't mind but as soon as I start losing I want them to leave before they hear me cuss up a storm. That, and any condescending remarks and you're outta here as well.

I've got 7 major rules for watchers:

1: Thou shall not touch myself or my controller / keyboard + mouse.
2: Thou shalt let me rage in peace.
3: Thou shall not ask about the plot. If you want to know about it - play it yourself.
4: Thou shall not purposefully obstruct my view of the screen.
5: Thou shalt only offer advice when asked for it.
6: Thou shall not talk when ANYONE on screen is talking. NO exceptions.
7: Failure to abide by these rules will result in the game going on pause until the offending viewer removes themselves from my immediate area.

I generally don't mind people watching me play video games, of any sort, so long as they don't tell me what to do or which direction to go.
This is especially annoying for me 'cause my dad often tells me I'm going in the wrong direction when I'm playing video games, but I keep having to kindly remind him that half the fun of video games is exploring and treasure hunting. So usually I tell him 'I know', to which I normally get 'Alright, I was just saying', which makes me sound totally malicious, and him completely and utterly pathetic XD

I don't really mind if people watch while I'm gaming. It's while I'm doing anything else that it bothers me. I also can't stand watching anyone else game. Drives me nuts.

Do NOT stand or sit too close to me. Seriously, little personal space people. I have to say this a lot when people watch me play my DS. I'm fine with it and all, but do not put your face in front of mine while I'm trying to play.

I don't mind people watching. I think a few gamers here have some issues... not to point fingers lol. But anyway, it does bother me when, for example, my dad watches and goes "SHOOT HIM!"
"No, dad, that's a team mate"
"Oh... SHOOT THAT GUY!"
"No, dad, still a team mate"
"Oh... how do you know?"
"They're green... bad guys are red"
"Oh... Is that a bad guy??"
"NO!!"
"hm.. How do you know where to go?"
"The map tells me"
"The map tells you? What??"
"See, a dot showing the location"
"Oh cool it's right in front of you..."
"No, no it isn't. That just means I'm going the right direction"
"Oh.. SHOOT THAT GUY!"
"IT'S NOT A BAD GUY!!!!!"
etc.

Yea, that type of "armchair gamer" pisses me off. If you don't know wtf is going on, keep silent and watch.

On the other hand it can be fun to game with a friend and watch eachother, I've spent many hours doing this with my cousin, taking turns and helping eachother out. Pointing out things and giving warnings... it's fun.

My rules?
You CAN watch, but if you say something, then I'll yell "SHUT UP!"
Especially if it is "tips" on how I should do things another way.
And if someone TOUCHES my screen and there comes a fingerprint on my monitor, I'll just pause the game, turn around towards them, sit still for three-four seconds, then, FALCON PUNCH!
NOBODY fucks with my monitor..

I don't mind people watching me game if it's only for a little bit to see what I'm doing, if they're my friend and are just watching me while I play Oblivion or something I sorta feel like a dick and ask if he wants to play a 2-player game. My biggest peeve though is when you comment on what I'm doing. I really can't stand when people have to comment on what I do. Actually come to think of it, I hate when people comment on stuff on me doing shit in real life.

EDIT: I'm in a ranting mood today it seems >_>

I can usually stand it, but the moment they start telling me how to play I usually turn it right the hell off or just hand them the controller

"You missed something in the corner!"
*tossing the controller to them* "Good job, Eagle Eye. Mind if I play next?"
